All four defendants acquitted on all counts after a number of hours deliberation by the jury. This case has been deeply troubling in particular for survivors witnessing the conduct of the case - many survivors are telling us they will now never report.

@EavesCharity The narrative of ‘rough sex’ has to be challenged. If the levels of violence and misogyny of pornography becomes normalised, we risk justifying and denying sexual violence and women will feel pressure to ‘consent’ to this form of violence.

Most women have been subjected to #SexualAssault . A not insignificant number of men, a fifth of girls, and almost as many boys will be. It is time for the Government to build and secure an infrastructure that can deal with the scale of the problem.

With a criminal conviction rate of only 2% for child sexual violence we need to pay close attention to where the rest of child victims are served in the system

We urge @rodericogorman to prioritize reform of the Child Care Act and the significant work that needs to go into Child Protection. Teenagers cannot be forgotten as their visibility as victims of sexual violence needs attention in a changing landscape of predatory opportunity
