Can we teach bacteria to autonomously synthesize and assemble biomaterials? @Qi_Xieqi and coworkers thing so! Excited to share our work on secretion-catalyzed assembly, out now in @angew_chem. Bacillus's translocon can act like a nano silk spinneret!

The core of this study is the secretion-catalyzed assembly mechanism which we demonstrated by biochemical approaches and ultimately using EMs to visualize the cells in cellulo. Collaborated with @Mejohnson81 and @sikao14 , we also did a RD simulation to support this idea.
