i was paying $1,500 a month in property taxes in chicago in a terrible 2-bedroom condo. after hoa, insurance, utilities, and bank interest, i was out a good $4,000 per month, all sunk.
now i live in latin america and pay about $1,500 a month, total, and deal with none of that.
American's don't realize that $1,500 a month property taxes are insane.
You could rent a giant house in LatAm for less than your property taxes in the Long Island suburbs.
Heck, your entire families monthly expenses could be less than $1,500 in LatAm!

i moved to nyc in the early 2000s. under bloomberg, nyc became a tech hub, and i made a lot of $$.
never felt unsafe anywhere in the city, including the “bad” parts of brooklyn and the bronx.

this is their chocomio, which is like a frozen hot chocolate, with a concha, a mexican sweet bread.
