PIAD is the campaign calling on Princeton University to divest from Israel. No more war profiteering, no more upholding apartheid, Princeton out of Israel now!
14 Princeton students begin hunger strike in solidarity with Gaza: “We are drawing from the tradition of Palestinian political prisoners going on saltwater-only hunger strikes in Israeli prisons since 1968.” 🇵🇸
We raised our encampment in solidarity with Gaza to protest Princeton's role in funding the ongoing genocide! We join a national movement of students speaking out against the occupation, fighting for Palestinian liberation.
JOIN US at McCosh Plaza to support us and get involved!
‼️ PRINCETON STUDENTS LAUNCH HUNGER STRIKE IN SOLIDARITY WITH GAZA
Participants will abstain from all food and drink (except water) until our demands are met. We commit our bodies to their liberation of Palestine. PRINCETON, hear us now! We will not be moved!
Princeton University's administration wasted no time in suppressing free speech, immediately arresting two students as they peacefully protested on campus. THEY ARE CURRENTLY EVICTING THESE STUDENTS FROM HOUSING. LINK HERE TO PHONE/EMAIL ZAP
Princeton has refused to bargain over our demands through any channels of communication since October. We are taking our demands directly to administration to force Princeton to the table NOW!
Students and faculty are leading a sit-in in Clio Hall. Everyone to Clio Hall now!
There can be no school pride during genocide— just now, dozens of Princeton students and alumni came together to disrupt the P-Rade and let the administration know that they should expect disruption until they deliver divestment 🇵🇸❤️🔥
President Eisgruber, there's blood on your hands.
This morning, Princeton alumni and students held up red hands and walked out of President Eisgruber's presidential address at reunions with a clear message: WE WILL NOT REST UNTIL DIVEST.
“We shouldn’t have zip tied you so tightly” cops tell our students.
They’re being charged with trespassing and getting EVICTED from their on campus housing.

PRINCETON GAZA SOLIDARITY ENCAMPMENT UPDATE: Due to health concerns of the 13 strikers who fasted for 9 days, the first hunger strike wave ended and the second wave has begun. In the tradition of rotary hunger strikes, 7 new strikers are indefinitely fasting for a free Palestine.
It might be dark and cold out, but we are bringing the warmth and light!! Night 1 of the Popular University for Gaza at Princeton, FREE PALESTINE WE OUT HERE ‼️DIVESTMENT NOW
🚨 BREAKING 🚨
ONE OF OUR HUNGER STRIKERS WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AFTER SIX DAYS OF STRIKING. UPDATES INCOMING.
@Princeton
, WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR YOU TO CARE ABOUT YOUR STUDENTS???
PIGS PICTURED HERE ARRESTING 2 of our fearless students! The administration is trying to bar, suspend, and expel them. Please join us in calling on Princeton admin to stand in solidarity with Gaza and our peacefully protesting students!
While counterprotestors tore down our signs last night, public safety officers repeatedly harassed us, refusing to let us rest. Disgusting — Princeton continues to actively endanger its students. What is so threatening about a student trying to stay warm?
On the third day of Princeton’s Hunger Strike for Gaza, as the temperatures fall and rain continues,
@Princeton
admin refuses still to allow our strikers to have tents, leaving them huddled under umbrellas, vulnerable and unsafe. Shameful and cruel.
Ruha Benjamin and Princeton faculty witnesses set the record straight on the peaceful Clio Hall sit-in in solidarity with the 13 arrested participants.

TRAGIC ACCIDENT 🔻 GENOCIDE DENIAL
Good morning Princeton! Looks like an autonomous group has given you all a reminder of the blood on the University’s hands. Seems like it would be nice back drop for end-of-year photos, make sure to stop by ❤️🔥
After three weeks of the Princeton Gaza Solidarity Encampment, despite constant university intimidation, we met with the Resources Committee of the Council of the Princeton University Community (CPUC) today to present our proposal for divestment and dissociation from Israel.
Princeton Hunger Strikers write to the Board of Trustees: “The extremes we face are nothing in light of the immense and unimaginable suffering of the Palestinians…which has yet to be acknowledged by our university’s leadership”
As the evening chill sets in, our community is finding ways to be together to practice solidarity and care: reading, playing, singing—we will not rest until divest ✊
Hunger strikers: “Undertaking the strike is … to be in solidarity with the people of Gaza and … Palestine who have been … systematically starved and deprived of food and forced into a famine that has been described as one of the worst humanitarian disasters in human history.”
🚨Just before midnight, two campers helping to shelter our hunger strikers were threatened with these “No Trespass Notices”.🚨
Princeton continues to punish us for protecting our peers, out of sight of the public and media. Shameful and cowardly behavior from Eisgruber’s admin.
Princeton student leaders from 19 cultural affinity organizations with support from over 200 individual students have signed a letter condemning the university’s outright racism and targeted arrest and harrassment of students of color.
Read the letter:
*IMPORTANT UPDATE* After talking to both students and reviewing all videos from the protest, it is clear neither student chanted while in the auditorium-- their only "violation" was walking out of the space alongside their peers.
PRETTY TOWN, BLOODY GOWN 🔻
An autonomous collective made sure reunions day 3 started off with a reminder to keep eyes on Palestine as our institution continues to enable genocide. Respect to them + all others who escalate for Gaza❤️🔥
Princeton has locked Morrison Hall, the building next to Clio. This building houses the department of African American Studies and the Effron Center, which houses Latino Studies, Native Studies, and Asian American Studies. A RACIST, SHAMEFUL targeted action!
🚨 ALUMNI ARRESTED FOR PROTESTING OUTSIDE OF EISGRUBER’S TALK🚨meanwhile the school’s
#1
liar Executive Vice President Rochelle Calhoun smirks at and videotapes the uni alumni who she called the cops on
And to close out this day of tremendous action, while the university spent thousands on its deafening fireworks display, we showed up once more to say that we will celebrate nothing while bombs are still dropping.
On May 25, we blocked Princeton’s disgusting and ostentatious display (the P-rade) of school pride during genocide, days before Israel would burn Palestinians alive in Rafah.
We do not honor the foot soldiers of American empire. We honor every martyr lost to the occupation.
Shameful Princeton students rush to stop a MEMORIAL DAY parade after spotting American flags coming towards them.
Hundreds of activists charged onto the road and sat down while shouting “Free Palestine” at the parade marchers who were honoring fallen service members & veterans.
🚨 We refuse to stand aside while the apartheid Zionist entity commits genocide against Palestine with American weapons and Princeton’s money. We heed the call to escalate. Take action from campus to the streets. Disrupt all parts of everyday life until Palestine is free. 🇵🇸
🚨URGENT SUPPORT NEEDED🚨
Pton has told two seniors that they’re withholding their degrees for walking out of Eisgruber’s speech on May 25th. ALTHOUGH DOZENS PARTICPATED, PRINCETON IS TARGETING TWO BLACK MEN.
ZAP THE PRINCETON ADMIN AT !!!

Eisgruber Lies, Palestinians Die.
Read our full response to the latest campus wide email meant to stoke fear, mislead on commitments, and shrug off all responsibility—
A second blockade is underway as hundreds joining from the rally's sides chant "Princeton University we know what side you're on, remember South Africa, remember Vietnam". This is how it works, shut the system down however you can whenever you can.
NOT ONE TENT on campus but a bunch of v menacing looking vehicles! If you support our free speech so much VP Calhoun, why preempt the policing and detention of your students? Who do you serve? Who do you protect?
hmm if *we* were admins attempting to make sure everyone can safely + freely express themselves at the university they pay tuition to attend, *we* simply wouldn't dangle a "suspension, delay of a diploma, or expulsion". But no worries, we're sure no bad intentions to censor here!
We invite all members of the Princeton community and beyond who stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza to join us in this hunger strike. We invite you to participate in solidarity fasts with us that will last 24 hours.
Solidarity Fast Sign-Up:
Hear from Achinthya and Hassan: “We are accountable for the lives of Palestinian people because our money and our resources are going there right now … people have to listen. We don’t have any more time! We need to be loud and bold with our voices.”
These Princeton PhD and master’s students were arrested, barred from campus, evicted and cannot graduate – just because they protested in solidarity with Palestinians.
In just the first 60 days of their genocidal assault on Gaza, the IOF produced 281,000 tonnes of CO2. There is no climate justice w/out Palestinian liberation, there is no gren earth without divestment from Israel. Join us tomorrow to say just that!! Frist Lawn at noon 🌍❤️🔥🌎
They said they would begin the process of hearing from a wide range of constituents. They heard the community outside, demanding divestment NOW. They will continue to hear from us
Welcome to the relaunched Princeton Divestment Campaign, here to demand and disrupt until Princeton University severs its institutional and financial ties with the Israeli state. Follow for campaign updates and actions, and sign on to the campaign here:
On June 19th, PIAD submitted a divestment proposal to the Council on the Princeton University Community’s Resource Committee. Read the proposal at + our press release at
Grateful for the hands, hearts & minds who made this real ❤️🔥

We expanded on over 20 years of organizing for divestment at Princeton, we reminded them of Princeton’s history of expedited divestment in the case of Darfur in 2006, and we emphasized Israel’s ongoing genocide against Gaza and occupation of Palestine since 1948 again and again
At the end of the meeting, we committed to sending them a formal, written proposal for divestment and dissociation endorsed by a broad coalition of the Princeton community
We showed decisively that we meet CPUC’s criteria of sustained campus interest, central university values of human rights and scholarship at stake, and deliberative campus consensus
We said that more than 35,000 lives lost is not just a number. We read the names of every university destroyed by Israel in Gaza. We stressed the urgency of the issue; that there is no time for deliberation, that the processes MUST change in response to this catastrophe
Rather than engage honestly w/ the community at CPUC, Eisgruber + his admin hugely limited seating, filibustered taking audience q’s until the last 25 mins, and sidestepped any acknowledgement of Palestinian genocide. Still, despite their efforts, we showed up in seas of dissent.
TO ALL STUDENTS: THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION!
In the footsteps of our comrades at Rutgers-New Brunswick, Tufts, and now Columbia, we call on all students of conscience across the nation to seize the university and force the administration to divest, for the people of Gaza!
same sites, just a few hours apart, hundreds of posters torn down-- what's the deal
@Princeton
🤔 we just wanted to make sure your democratically-held town hall was well-attended! don't you want to hear from your students?!
Standing ovation, not an unmoved soul in the house, for
@DrSamahJabr
, who delivered such a necessary Said Memorial Lecture (moderated by
@raziaiqbal
). As she guides us, “All our work is just palliative, when the root cause of this trauma is the ongoing occupation itself” ❤️🔥
Though several Princeton departments have neglected to circulate the info for this year’s Edward Said ‘57 Memorial Lecture on their listservs, they won’t coerce our absence. Today, McCosh 10, 4:30pm, we’ll see you there.
Modeled after generations of student organizers in the 70s and 80s who upended the university's support of South Africa's apartheid regime, the Princeton Divestment Campaign coheres around the singular aim of total university divestment from Israel.
in addition to their substantial undercount of the # of divest disrupters, this fails to mention how Eisgruber’s administration staged the room to limit audience seating, packed the halls full of cops, and surveilled the space, creating an impossibly undemocratic environment 🤷♀️🤷♂️
In response to a petition for the University to divest from companies associated with “Israel’s ongoing military campaign,” President Eisgruber said at a CPUC meeting that student consensus was needed for a U. decision. Reporting by Miriam Waldvogel.
Eisgruber has therefore made it shamefully clear to us today that the "values" of the university and its moral obligations do not extended to Palestinians. We will not rest until this injustice is made right and Princeton divests from Israel.

When deciding on what to paint on our first banner, we took inspiration from the bold simplicity of Princeton’s People’s Front’s “Princeton Out of South Africa”. That’s the campaign, that’s the work. Come to SJP’s Walk Out, this Friday at 2:30pm, to see the full banner drop 🇵🇸
