80-83 ➡️ 85-87 T88 @noah.tofan has gotten after it these past 6 months, trusting the plan we put together. Test ⬇️ Identify what needs to be improved ⬇️ Attack what needs to be improved ⬇️ Retest Simple framework that can get complex if you are just throwing stuff at the wall hoping it sticks. Proud of the work Noah has put in over the Summer and Winter, going from low 80s and uncommitted to mid to upper 80s and having a big role with the pitching staff at Sul Ross

This can be a crazy concept to some, but if you’re not getting playing time taking game days easy just incase you pitch is only setting you back further and further. If you’re not getting playing time, why not treat the season as an opportunity to get better instead of blame your coaches and the “busy” season for 4 months of wasted time DMs are open

Repeating the topic of my last post Is the throw good if it doesn’t fall under what coaches and players have accepted as “proper mechanics” Would Trevor Megill be throwing even harder and post a sub 2 era if he didn’t lean backwards and “not finish” his throw, or do those qualities attribute to why he’s so effective.

@Jsudds44 Athletes will dominate the game and then send video asking how to fix their throw it blows my mind but then I remember I did it as a player and once I stopped caring about how I want the throw to look I actually started to perform

Liam Progulske is one of my original athletes when I first started with Connected Performance in 2022. @ProgulskeLiam came to us looking to get out of the low 80s. The bottom video is Liam in a recent bullpen where he sat 88-90. He has ran it up to 92 in the past. A ton of changes in his throw, and to be honest we really didnt talk about his mechanical changes often. Liam didn’t get caught up in chasing the perfect mechanics and over analyzing the details of the throw. Chasing objective feedback through velocity or distance in his throws is what shaped how his throw has improved, not subjective preconceived thoughts on how the throw should look. It’s no surprise as to why his career has changed, going from likely redshirting, to having knee surgery leaving him without a spot on the team, no now being one of his new schools top arms and still training everyday with the same intensity regardless of the situation has been crucial in putting Liam in the position he is now.
