I went to an HIV conference that had a special session on monkeypox and the CDC people leading the session were like “we don’t know why it was such a boom and bust epidemic but we do know it wasn’t thanks to the gays it was probably because of our great response!”.
MPOX: Great article by @InaParkMD from @UCSF. In HIV & Mpox, it was the gay community here in the US that helped shape the response (with excellent reporting on Mpox from @benryanwriter). Public health responses shaped with community input most effective.
