@skedeschi I’ve dealt with depression since middle school. I get that someone can’t easily flip a switch to turn off mental illness. There should be compassion for people who suffer from such things. But that doesn’t mean anyone else should pretend to share the delusion. Lying is wrong.

@McCormickProf My mother suffered terribly for decades with chronic health conditions (incl. MS and EDS), yet wasn’t bitter and never sought to share her misery. She remained kind and as independent as possible through it all. She was the strongest person I’ll ever meet.
