UNIFIL continues to support local communities with essentials. Recently, the Irish and Polish peacekeepers provided blankets, schoolbags, jackets, and water purification tablets in Haddathah, south Lebanon, showing their commitment while fulfilling their mission under Res. 1701.

UNIFIL supports the full redeployment of @LebarmyOfficial across southern Lebanon and the safe return of displaced civilians. The parties’ commitment to the full implementation of Resolution 1701 and the cessation of hostilities remain critical for the stability of the region.

Demining is essential but dangerous work. In southern Lebanon, where unexploded weapons and landmines pose ongoing dangers, our deminers work carefully and with great dedication to clear the path for both locals and peacekeepers, helping to make the area safer for everyone.

UNIFIL Statement:. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) is very concerned about reports of Lebanese civilians returning to villages where Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are still present and of casualties due to Israeli fire.

the complete withdrawal of the IDF from Lebanon, the removal of any unauthorized weapons and assets south of the Litani river, the redeployment of the LAF in all of south Lebanon and ensuring the safe and dignified return of displaced civilians on both sides of the Blue Line.
