I went to a cinematography tor beginners night. I was the only screenwriter with 7 dudes. There was one young guy - early 20s - who very obviously judged and dismissed me from my appearance. That hasn’t happened so overtly for ages. And it kind of sucked.

David Simon, the creator of The Wire, says he’s on strike to protect new generations of writers and make sure they aren’t exploited by studios.

Got into the writer's room! Five of us (unpaid) working on each other's projects for 10 months. Also have an interview for assistant producer at a tiny local theatre that does bold work. 🥳
Sent off my first pilot outline for a TV writer's room experiment. We collectively work on each other's projects. Not sure anything where Australia confronts its own racism would ever get up but you never know. Big thanks to Leah for quick feedback.
