K’Von Wallace was more a scheme dependent slot corner when drafted. He has developed into a solid rotational DB who can start for some teams. I noticed two forced incompletions in single digit snaps, and nice specials tackles also.
Safety depth in ‘23 should remain strong.

We saved 14-15mil in cap over ‘24+’25 moving Reddick.
That’s in addition to avoiding an extension on someone whose game is built on speed/agility turning 30.
Compensation is debatable but trading was correct. Eagles needed to stop spending future cap on the over 30 club.

I will speak plainly. If the Eagles don't draft a WR in the 2nd they are being the opposite of intelligent. WRs of this caliber hanging out in the 50's do not grow on trees most drafts. You can likely acquire one there who is easily better than Jerry Jeudy, who just got paid.

The fact that the Eagles started taking action early at LB instead of White stinking for a 1-2 months tells me a basic level of competence has been restored by the Football brain trust in Eagles land.
Last year we did not have that.

I have ripped Fangio for his cover 3 madness and excessive use of the same type of stunt hurting us in the run game vs Packers. He must fix both issues.
But his RZ pressures and coverages saved our asses, and he was mostly good on 3rd down.

Hurts’ response to the blitz was better than in the past.
He anticipated it and made quick decisions that resulted in crucial first downs a few times that I recall. One of them was with a quick decision to run when they were ice-ing the clock late.

The Nolan and Jordan Davis slander is very annoying. Here is JD doing typical JD things. Even if they aren’t great pass rushers they do actually help your pass rush a ton.

This is the only snap(2nd and 10) they are mano y mano. And it is the only rep of the game that Steen loses. Ojomo pass rushing from edge instead of interior looks good here.

I can get behind this more than Desai’s cov2 tendencies. If CJGJ stays an Eagle, would expect him to likely be the safety coming down to LOS to defend a man after watching some of ‘21 Bears w/safety Jackson.
It means less INTs for CJGJ, but tighter coverage.
I'm excited to see Desai's 9 be implemented next year. It uses the true Fangio mechanics that weren't in place last season, and it's one of the best match concepts I've seen. Plays a lot like M/M, and the answers it has for all different kinds of formations are fantastic.

Tyler Steen is inexpensive for 3 more seasons and has displayed starter potential.
Drafting his replacement in the first two days of this draft is not a smart utilization of resources given that most of the roster holes we started the offseason with, are still holes.

Losing White for the game improves the Eagles defense vs the run. Dean/Baun should be a solid to good combination vs the run.
The million dollar question will be how to use them in coverage when they aren’t blitzing. Looking forward to seeing how Fangio navigates that.

Yeah, time to start getting rid of them. Fear leads to consumption. It’s a vicious cycle that leads to more guns. The fewer rounds they can fire off per min and more strict rules making purchase of guns challenging would slowly but surely decrease death rates from guns.

Renardo Green, Mr Reliable. I only have 3 games. But he rarely allowed much separation in man press from outside CB in any of them.
In the RZ, they move him inside and out to follow a dangerous receiver at times. Here are two solid inside/outside man press reps vs Nabers in RZ.

I’ve seen it said by smart people that Desai’s fronts don’t get upfield as often as last yr. And that’s partly why we are better vs run. I don’t think it’s that simple and in fact find the opposite to be true on the interior.

Remember how Fangio screwed the run D with excessive stunts in game 1?
Whelp. I'm halfway through game 2, and it's a rather large problem again.
And here is where the run D starts going downhill…early 2nd quarter. An over-reliance on a specific stunt Fangio calls that might be less effective against gap scheme with pullers is the main culprit.
