Didn't even realize Mekhi Becton was playing with 1 finger and a thumb last week. Definite detriment to blocking. Wasn't on injury report. Every player is dealing with injuries we don't even know about at this point in the season. Good move to let the guys rest.

Just to piggyback off this:. Jalen Hurts currently has career highs in:.Passer Rating.Yards/Att.TD rate.Completion %.Adjusted Completion %. We don't need to make sweeping assessments based on one game. He has proven he is a good QB.
Eagles tied their franchise record w/ 9 wins in a row, but one tight game against the Panthers & everything gets thrown out the window. Reminds me of early season when everyone said we needed massive changes to the structure of the defense. The Eagles will be fine. Breathe. Relax.

@JimmyKempski Wasn't just the pass rush, CJ supposed to be covering Kelce on the crossing route but can't because he slips. Both teams had to deal with this obviously, just ruins the product for the NFL when defense can't be played. Not a surprise both teams score 30+.

@BrettKollmann They never run it just one way. There's small variations & differences among the ways they run it, whether that's alignment, snap count, gap selection, trying to plow ahead straight forward or waiting a split second and then going over the top.

All I want for the trade deadline is a new Zack Baun contract.
I know it's trade season but I don't think they should trade for anyone. Who are they going to trade for that's realistically going to be an upgrade? They already made their trade for Dotson. And miss me with the SiGn MaXX CrosBY B.S. Cap wise moves like that would be HORRIBLE.

Jordan Davis essentially occupies 3 gaps here. -Knifes into play side A-Gap.-Recognizes combo block & uses Centers momentum to work laterally & squeeze front side B-Gap.-Falls back into backside A-Gap. Allows the Eagles to play out-gapped in the run game & keep 2 safeties high.

Kellen Moore does a great job sequencing plays. 1st 3rd down of game-bunch, spacing concept w/ switch release from 2/3. Notice how much space behind Slay w/ him taking quick out. 2nd Q-3rd down, bunch, same 2/3 switch gets CeeDee on LB this time runs corner route to open space

@PHLEagleNews Just different roles they're being asked to do. Jordan Davis is still a great asset to the team. Without JD helping them to get to long D&D, Ojomo doesn't get as many snaps.

Moro Ojomo with an incredibly underrated play that doesn't show up in the stat sheet. Browns pull their Center & OG but Ojomo does a nice job to cancel the gaps by working laterally down the line (while square) and overlapping JD. Nice job by many players here but Ojomo was 🔑

It's one thing to run all over bad defenses. It's another to do it against the top (statistically) run defense in the NFL. No back had rushed for over 63 yards against the Ravens. Saquon Barkley ran for 107. Nobody is stopping this ground attack.

It's play like this from Jordan Davis that don't show up in the stat sheet but show why he's so valuable to the defense. His ability to constantly eat doubles allows the LBs to play free & allows the defense the ability to play with light boxes or rotate down late.

Hurts needs the VR training. Being a tick slow to make decisions is one thing holding him back being an upper echelon QB.

Ok Fred Johnson 👀👀. Excellent job recognizing the DE spiking inside the TE, staying square & patient with his feet, shoving the DE back into the TE - and most importantly, look at his eyes. Never takes them off the LB at the 2nd level and sets himself on an excellent track.

@jo_juice That's my point. Defenders should head hunt every time because it doesn't matter what they do, ultimately it's on the QB to protect themselves & the refs are only throwing the flag based on that.

Jordan Davis had a huge impact vs the Ravens. Was continually disruptive in the run game constricting gaps, single-handedly forcing runs to cut back to help defenders, & keeping the LBs & safeties free to make plays. Also had some quick wins in pass rush & kept contain on Lamar
It's a lot easier to play with light boxes when you have a guy like Jordan Davis who can constrict 2 gaps at once.

Don't underestimate the Eagles offensive performance despite a slow start on Sunday. The Eagles 37 points is the most allowed by the Bills defense this year (31 in regulation is the most as well). The Bills were 5th in PPG allowed (17.3) coming into Week 12.

@MagicCraw I didn't say the Commanders should've been a penalty. It's a point that intent doesn't matter & all that matters is if a QB gave himself up in time or not. Since a defender can't control that, he might as well go for the hit regardless. Reed should've tried to clean Fields clock.

Just 1st play but extremely encouraging. Front mechanics between DT & LBs night & day different against Outside Zone vs Falcons game. Front protects LBs allowing them to fall back when run is cut off. Baun able to cover his gap & Huff's gap as he takes a false step & gets reached

I hope Jalen Carter continues to add the hump move to his rotation of go to pass rush moves. Very hard move to stop against a capable pass rusher.

The Eagles defense isn't just playing like one of the best defenses this year – they've been playing like one of the best defenses this decade. 3rd lowest YPG since 2020. Their YPG since the Bye Week (Wk 5) would rank only behind the 2008 Steelers & 2000 Titans since 2000.

Another great play by Baun. Sinks into the throwing window, forces the underneath pass & quickly breaks to close on the ball. Doesn't stop & chop his feet & give the back space to work. Good example of long stride short stride into the tackle. ABC. always be closing.

@Cmalet50 Which is my exact point. It doesn't matter the defenders intent, it's about whether or not the QB gets down quick enough or not. So defenders should tee off knowing it doesn't matter what their intentions are.

The Rams activated a practice squad tackle. 4th in snaps at LT for the Rams this season. Wasn't on the active roster last week. Appears more & more likely that LT Alaric Jackson won't play vs the Eagles.
Interesting injury to watch for the Rams. LT Alaric Jackson was on injury report Wed/Thurs w/ chest injury. McVay said he would play on Thurs. Then Friday he didn't practice w/ knee injury. Jackson was 23/84 tackles in pressure rate allowed via PFF (min 150 pass block snaps)

Ravens do a nice job of funneling the run to the unblocked defender, but Kendall Milton runs right through the tackle. It's hard for his physical running style to shine in practice, he's going to have to separate in games. Thought he was impressive against the Ravens.
