SD2PSX is a fully open-source memcard for the PSX and PS2. Using the RP2040 at its core, it's cost-effective and cheap to produce.
Firmware is coming soon. Credits to xyz :)
Features:
on release
support for higher capacity storage (128GB+)
UDMA 6 support. It's designed to run at the maximum capabilities of IDE.
Should fit better than M2PS2, no gaping hole in your PS2.
later on
Open source (eventually, after 1-2 batches)
Dreamcast Slave Mode support
IDE2SD update!~
Read directly through IDE with my SD card in on the other end.
BIG PROGRESS!
Coming to replace an iFlash near you soon
TODO:
Auto detection of sectors (currently I can just effectively read the whole drive at once)
Write support
Speed improvements
Selling a NeoGeo CD with an SD Loader and the HDRV breakout cable. Asking $500.
-Fully recapped (PSU and Mainboard)
-Custom MicroSD PCB mount I created to use an external SD slot for easy access
-New Power brick from Stoneage Gamer.
-More photos available upon request.
Would anyone be interested in a drop-in replacement battery for the Switch that is 50% larger in capacity? V1, V2, OLED only. No Lite.
The cost would be about $35
For those interested: here are super high-resolution board scans of the OLED motherboard. 22,000 x 15,380. Did a rough alignment that looked fine to me but if anyone else seems to disagree on alignment, the .PSB is in there too. ty
@zzattack
for sanding :)
quick little IDE2SD update:
ATA-1 is implemented.
A couple of mistakes on my dev board, but nothing terrible.
Need to move my SD CLK to a MRCC capable pin on the FPGA to get any speeds higher than 50Mhz.
The current dev board will still be good for a PoC soon™️
@LuigiBlood
I have 200 of them in the works.
$120 with the following:
injection molded shell in dark translucent color
hard gold edge connector
enig surface finish
matte black PCB
$108 for PCB only.
Soon™️
We're live! Accepting pre-orders now. These start production after China's National Day holiday (Oct 1 to Oct 7) and will take 2-3 weeks to produce/ship out.
finally got off my ass and hunted down the molex connector used on the oled game card reader board and motherboard.
Here is the switch side:
daughterboard side:
only seen this be broken 2 times. beats paying for another reader.
FUN: these LED noodles can power straight off a 3.3V microcontroller pin, albeit less than full brightness…and can even be PWM’d. Adafruit will have these soon.

for those that have been trying to FRAM mod their neo geo cd's: FM1808-70-SG (Same FRAM as used on the Saturn) does work. All you have to do is ground pins 1 and 26. Another reason to make it the go to FRAM chip :)

If you've bought a NGCD SD Loader from AliExpress, they use SST39VF400A for the NOR, this causes a region flipping issue where selecting US loads the JP menu and vice versa. To fix this, you can use SST39VF402C-70-4C-EKE or SST39VF402C-70-4I-EKE.
@cyothevile
reprogram syscon with correct bit training data, remove some resistors, install a 10k to gnd, change some other parts to lower the voltage to the rsx to 0.95V. that's it
open source fuse blowing on the xbox 360.
uses: able to transplant cpu's from one board to another and blow a nibble on CB if needed.
other uses: destroy a console
please use responsibly :)
@leonkiriliuk
IDE is the bus people rebuild with the available points on PS2 slims. Original PS2s used IDE. We have adapters now that do IDE to SATA, but the interface PS2s use at the end of the day is IDE
@dbrand
Yknow, I never thought I’d order a skin/case from you for anything, but I gotta support the memes. Yes the 69 tabs in the bottom is intentional
@YetiisWorld
respectfully, if you don't know what a zero fuse cpu is or how it can be turned into a jtaggable console. i suggest you do some reading first before you comment. thanks!

This is an open-source cart, found here:
It can do 64DD emulation too! Apparently, the EverDrive can't do that. So in a sense, this is better too.

@pepefarms
7371, you can always check the CB as well by simply connecting a nand reader and selecting the check option in jrunner and checking the chart

No longer important now that we know there were multiple “hwfly” clones. You can flash it how you normally would with the batch script and firmwareupdater.exe provided with hwfly-nx firmware

Pretty much this. PSX came out in the 2000's and up until then, PSX was how people referred to the original PS1 before the PSOne. iirc, PSX stood for Play Station Experiment? Someone correct my history if I'm wrong

@furrtek
This was an issue with PCBWay as well but not nearly as bad. I had about a 10% rate where there was a loose pin that I’d have to solder on properly.
@hellrick63
@Mathieulh
Your issue is from lack of LBA48 support. All these old controllers are LBA28 only. My open source solution is coming soon™️. A full reimplementation of SDIO in 4bit mode and IDE with UDMA support. Soon we can restore PSX DESR hdd support as well.
@MakeAugusta
@ChrisPVille
I'm mostly stating experience. I've been banned from PayPal, Stripe, Square, GlobalPayments, you name it. I had to get a high-risk payment processor to combat all the bans since my business is considered "high-risk"
@Mathieulh
@Gusse__
@modzvilleusa
From what I could tell, the only issue with IDE <-> SD adapters is that 99.999% of them support LBA28 only. Didn't know iflash made this. 🤔
