@maklelan Many problematic passages of the bible don't really require a deep academic understanding, but Christian apologists try to obfuscate by saying the meaning is more complicated then they actually are. Oftentimes, the historic context supports the plain meaning.

A significant reason we are where we are today, is in fact because the US enables Israel's worse impulses with its unconditional support, regardless of its strategic merits. To attach string & draw red lines isn't weakening a relation. It's about protecting national interests.

Conditioning aid to Israel is a slippery slope toward abolishing aid altogether—which has long been the objective of Israel’s leading detractors in DC. America’s singular ally in the Middle East has suffered the single deadliest invasion in its history at the hands of Hamas, a

@RadioFreeTom Craven and tepid responses like this are dangerous because it normalizes authoritarianism. Trump called for the end of the constitutional order, an extralegal coup, and Round merely says people "shouldn't threaten to terminate it." Semi-loyal behavior.

@DemocracyDocket Because competent and experienced attorneys probably aren't inclined to signing onto frivolous and meritless lawsuits that carry risks of sanctions, I'd imagine.

@andriyhaydash It's not an invasion. It's a "special military operation" to protect Ukrainian speakers in Kursk Oblast, which is part of historic Ukraine and is within Kyiv's natural sphere of influence. RU shouldn't resist, and accept the fait accompli of the inevitable referendum when the

@PhillipsPOBrien This is pure speculation but given what I have gleaned and been told about UA strategic thinking, it's possible UA doesn't have a specific axis in mind per se but will operate on multiple fronts and reinforce points where they opportunities to exploit.

@LPDonovan From Roy et al perspective, losing collectively is winning individually. That was always the problem with the freedom caucus. They pay no penalty for intransigence and obstruction, which hurts the conference, while they are rewarded in their districts by sticking it to the libs.
