Congratulations to Ms. Intisar Hamidullah on being named the Principal of Cedar Ridge High School. The Board of Education voted on October 22nd, 2018 to remove the Interim Principal status from her role and to install her as the Principal of Cedar Ridge.

Due to the possibility of severe weather and hazardous conditions, Orange County Schools will dismiss 3 hours early Thursday, September 5th. After school & extracurricular activities are cancelled for tomorrow.The dismissal times: Elementary- 11:50am Middle- 12:35pm High- 1pm
Orange County Schools will operate on a 3 hour delay for students and staff on Thursday, December 13th. We ask that student drivers do not arrive excessively early tomorrow. If we need to make a change, we will contact you as soon as possible.

Mr. Phil Freelon passed away this week on July 9th. He led the team that designed the Smithsonian National African American Museum of History and Culture. And, he was the architect of A.L. Stanback middle school. We are thankful for Mr. Freelon's contributions to OCS.
Congratulations to Cameron Park Tiger Gavin Clewley on becoming a national champ by winning his age division in the AAU Cross Country National Championship in Knoxville, TN. Gavin is the all-time fastest 3rd grader in the mile at Cameron Park. He ran the mile in 5:58.
Due to impending hazardous weather related conditions that may arise due to Hurricane Florence, Orange County Schools will be closed on Thursday, September 13th & Friday, September 14th for students & staff. A regular school schedule will be on for Wednesday, September 12th.

All OCS schools and buildings will be closed Monday, January 3, 2022. There will be no in-person instruction or remote learning tomorrow for students. All buildings will be closed and all onsite activities are cancelled for tomorrow including after-school care, athletics, etc.
Orange County Schools will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow. Power has been restored to all of our schools, but we ask for you to be patient with bus transportation as some routes may still have debris that slows our buses. We look forward to having a great week.
Our staff will monitor the weather and road conditions throughout the night and the morning. If a change in the school day is necessary due to the weather, we will notify you in the morning.

we will continue this for the next 4 weeks at the Welcome Center every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
We've added 2 new food drop off sites:
New Horizon Church, 100 Horizon Place, Durham 27705 and Supper Club Road, Mebane 27302 (across the street from 205 Supper Club Rd. near grey mailboxes). Staff will be onsite to provide meals for pick up between 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
We currently have three schools without power and two schools that are now inaccessible due to fallen trees. With the forecast of continuous high winds, power outages and several roads that are now not passable, Orange County Schools is now closed for Friday, February 7, 2020.
