It's illegal to defend yourself in Canada. If the people fear the ability to defend themselves, they will grow helpless and dependent. Individuals ought to be given the liberty to protect themselves in public. Period.
If you're worried about walking downtown, police say you shouldn't carry pepper spray or a knife as it's illegal. And they say you may want to set the electronics aside.
