I saw a review before reading this book about the writer forcing their idea of “Nigerianess” into the work. I have read a lot of books by diaspora writers who do that but this was perfectly written. I enjoyed every bit of it. I can’t wait for the book club chat.

Also, saying the dialect sounds central is wrong. If you listen to Ika or Ukwuani dialect as a non-speaker, you won’t understand anything. The Aniocha/Oshimili areas are similar to the central Igbo.
