Same reason dogs piss on something to mark their territory. Consciously or unconsciously, to Trump everything belongs to him: water bottles, classified documents, the particulars are irrelevant. Everything exists as defined by him & in relation to him.

It's *perfect* messaging. Weird & creepy are repellent, and on a basic level people don't want to be associated with weird. "Those weirdos over there aren't like us" is great in-group/out-group stuff & opens the door to tell people why the stuff they want to do is weird & extreme

Their problem is that they *must* go where Trump goes, bc MAGA is Trump. He's their only gospel. And Trump's pathology means he will continue to implode. He cannot pivot b/c he does not have the capacity or self-control. It's not strategic - it's just who he is.

It's all the same story! GOP is putting up a candidate who's bought-and-paid for by business/tech interests, and the Democratic Party is getting pressured by the same kinds of billionaire donors to throw out our ticket. Oligarchs control the GOP. Do they control our party too?

Also, if any ad folks are listening here - target ads at Trump re: Vance. He can't be sure Vance won't usurp him and take the throne once he gets power. Leverage Trump's paranoia (it's a massive weakness).
