Infact, intern doctors have been overworking. If you scrap off call allowances, then scrap off the calls. If we're paying them like other professions, then let them work from 8-5mp too. Also while at it, tell the patients not to fall sick at night.

Reminds me of this one time I had to explain to a Pharmtech that Aldactone and Spironolactone are the same drug. He didn't pick and correct the error by the CO intern who had prescribed both and the patient was receiving 150mg a day (Aldactone 50mg BD and Spironolactone 50mg OD)
Last week a pharm tech was viciously trying to source Oral Pen G. There is no oral formulation of Pen G because of its chemical instability in the gastric environment which is acidic, only injectables are available as they are directly absorbed into the blood stream bypassing the

A sentiment for most doctors in the country. Day by day I'm contemplating edging out of the profession or moving out of the country all together, whichever comes first.
I have been silent for some time contemplating on the future of medical practice in Kenya and eventually I think I'll have to quit this profession that was once so dear to me. We have been so contemptuously and unfairly treated that sometimes it feels like a dream.

There was this parent in highschool who would gather a few students who were not visited. He would bring enough food for at least ten students, give them shopping and pocket money like his own son. I later learnt he had 7 adopted children. A great inspiration👌

I remember this one time I had a gravid mother who needed emergency CS due to antepartum hemorrhage (bleeding in late pregnancy). She kept insisting on calling 'mzee' to give consent. 🧵
My daughter Maya alizaliwa through CS. I remember accusing the doctor of not giving my wife enough time to develop labour. She was too fast for CS. Seeing this post from a doctor makes me feel mad. CS is not an achievement. You're doing injustice.

This time in the marathon exam I heard a colleague whisper 'skin'. You should have seen my paper describing the skin at length on each question 😂😂.... At least I got one right🥲
Pale 1st year we had unit called histology, microscopes.
Kwa exam you had like 20 stations to identify tissues. Shida ni everything looked like either tongue/vagina epithelium.
You have never seen one but you know how it looks under a microscope.I think we were just horny 😂.
