'Through' traffic is the problem, not where it will go afterwards. When you live on a rat run, like I do and you have to walk young kids to school down a street that has no footpaths anymore because they are used for parking, you quickly lose sympathy for 'through traffic'.

Massive investment in public transport and in walking and cycling is the only way. My experience of your beautiful city is that it is totally hostile to anybody who is not driving a car. Cars simply beget more cars and create ever more traffic.

She’s correct. Dairy and beef farming are a heavily subsidised ‘business’, one which pollutes, contributes to ecological degradation and sells its products at a price it couldn’t if it weren’t subsidised. It isn’t a public service.
