Neuro damage is prominent in Sjogrens. NeuroSjogrens/Sjogrens/chronic illness info posted. Advocacy, not med advice. RT's appreciated, helps spread the word!

Infiltration of white blood cells in many tissues. #Sjogrens
Sjögren’s is a chronic #autoimmune disease with persistent inflammation, and infiltration of white blood cells into exocrine glands leading to severe dryness, extreme fatigue, and chronic pain. It frequently impacts organs like the lungs, kidneys, and nervous system. #Sjogrens

@songandjoy Imv yes. It could go along w a non ketogenic meal. It just seems odd bc they're sold re dehydration but don't have the glucose to help your body absorb it best.

44% of ~500ppl diagnosed w autonomic disorders at Stanford got it post covid. 75% had POTS. POTS is a disabling condition that can lead to requiring disability payments in 47% per one study. Sjogrens (?post viral) used 2 have the distinction of being 2nd leading cause of POTS.
New from @Stanford_Neuro Among 491 individuals with no prior history of #autonomic disorders: 🔹 44% developed an autonomic disorder after COVID-19 🔹 75% of these had new onset POTS

@KDAO2011, has there been any discussion of the most common systemic autoimmune disease? (imv Sjogrens)

I've had a longstanding hunch that targetting T cells in Sjogrens is apt to be more effective than B cells. Not that I have the training or knowledge to know. Just a stubborn hunch. See slide on left below re #dazodalibep

Interesting thread backed w specific examples of various biases in our minds. There are certainly many stubbornly persistent incorrect biases about Sjogrens in medicine & research.
You’re not in control of your choices. This Nobel Prize winner spent 44 years proving it. He discovered a psychological flaw in human brain. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. And you'll question every decision you've ever made:🧵

Study recruiting subjects to look for the presence of bacteria in blood samples of ppl w LC, tick borne diseases, hEDS. Imv it would help if they included Sjogrens patients too (a lot of overlap w LC & ME incl elevated blood lactate, fatigue, & for many, PEM.)
We are investigating the presence of certain bacteria in the blood samples of people who have either #LongCOVID, Chronic #TickBorne and #VectorBorne Illnesses, #MECFS, or #EDS. Our clinical trial is currently recruiting!

Please use this hand method to look for multimorbidity in Sjogrens too.
To remember to assess multimorbidities, use your hand: heart is thumbs up, oncologists think they are #1 (index finger), long/lung finger (middle), the ring finger (germs under the ring for ID), & the pinky is small think OP, all come together with mental health #RNL2025

Nice thread re Treg cells protecting against neuroinflammation in the brain in a rodent model. Presumed relevant in many types of human neuroinflam if this finding proves true in humans. Looks to be a good org w a newsletter. I suspect Sjogrens wud b includ. Perhaps EDS.
Neuroinflammation is a hallmark of many conditions including, but not limited to: - Autoimmune encephalitis - Traumatic Brain Injury - Long COVID - ME/CFS - MS - etc. A new discovery finds a gatekeeper of neuroinflammation below the skull ...🧵
