Several people have been mentioning the infamous Boeing 727 go-around at Mogadishu after a Diamond DA-42 does not vacate the runway in time. Here it is… the Captain rolls out after the 360 almost perfectly aligned with the runway in a 50 + year old jet 😎

120km/hr means you will travel 120km in one hour whether you swim,fly or drive in reverse.

Intra Africa travel is limited. Also in Africa we happen to fly many aircrafts ads-b non-compliant. We also have limited coverage out there reason can't see low level flying aircrafts outside the major airports zones in kenya.

Mean sea level.....height/elevation above the level of the sea/ocean. Example Mombasa airport is about 200ft while Jomo is 5300ft. The higher the elevation,poor engine performance.

You can’t practice all emergencies or scenarios on a real aircraft,we have full motion simulators for that. This is an Mi-17 simulator am in for my currency check.

Helicopter can take off in 3 profiles;in ground effect(normal one),out of ground effect (vertical takeoff) and rolling takeoff (like fixed wings). Roll-on take offs use the minimum power so in case you are heavy,hot and high it’s the best profile.

I don’t know all of that because as you can see mine is just aerial aesthetics,but having flown almost to every single corner of Kenya,I am very impressed with this. It might not be perfect or even good,but there was a plan.

If you lose all engine power in a helicopter, you don’t fall from the sky like a brick. You can ‘glide’ in a controlled descent (autorotation) to the ground keeping a close watch at your rotor RPM.

Yes there is rotor brake on many types of helis.Example on this particular type you apply when rotor rpm is below 40%.

I am expecting wet leasing of police aircrafts soon..looks so intentional that a whole helicopter side of police airwing is being grounded on basis of fuel. Maybe they have few Robinson 66 somewhere which are cheap to operate waiting.

They don’t know,most of guys here have never stepped a foot in Somalia and if they did ,it was just Mogadishu ,shoot some videos and am not sure they would like to settle there. The Somalis in Somalia are okay but those in Europe or America are the loudest online ,we’re not black

You are right there. Under civil aviation rules in Kenya,a helicopter must have at least two engines to fly at night. For instrument flying,there are more requirements most on redundancy.

Tumekaa chini for long with my crew tukiwaza and we think that,plus all rescue operations,media highlighting airwing,that was the downfall…sometimes your success is your downfall. Some people couldn’t take it,their mediocrity and PR obliterated.
