Please know, we are in the very early stages of responding, so it will take 72 to 96 hours to hear back about your specific request. We will post information about community-based assistance such as meals, shelter, etc. as available.
We know that Nashvillians step up to help their neighbors, and financial donations to either the United Way of Greater Nashville or your disaster response organization of choice are the ABSOLUTE BEST WAY to get exactly what is needed, when it's needed, to your neighbors.
For those needing immediate food resources, Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee has put the following locations into Disaster Response. Those affected by the storm can visit any of these locations as often as needed to keep their household stocked with food.

When the power goes out in winter, the cold can be deadly but even without power, there are still ways to warm things up. Closing blinds and curtains and closing room doors can help contain heat, and stuffing towels in the cracks under doors can help keep the warmth in.

Long Term Recovery efforts begin 30-90 days after the disaster & typically last for at least 2 years as survivors are assisted with unmet needs. Recovery is a marathon and not a sprint! It will take time to restore our community to where it was before the storms on 12/9/23.
