returned from a mission assignment to Unicoi County to assist with specialized water rescues. The team rescued about 25 people from the dangerous flood waters.

Hurricane Helene has weakened to a tropical storm and is currently over far eastern TN. It will bring periods of rain today, heavy at times through this evening. Localized flooding will be possible through tonight. Tonight and through the weekend rain will be more showery.

A Flood Watch has been issued for all of Middle Tennessee starting this evening and continuing through Friday night. At this time, widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 5" are expected across the mid state from today through Saturday.
Storms are moving across Middle TN this afternoon and evening. A few may be strong to severe with damaging winds as the primary threat, large hail as secondary threat. Storms are producing A LOT of lightning and heavy downpours. Please closely monitor the weather today!

is on scene at the natural gas leak on Demonbreun and 14th Avenue. They are excavating some more area to access and then clamp off the gas line that is broken. Continue to avoid the area. There are no injuries reported at this time.
