Just finished reading this judgement. I agree with the judge’s ruling. NYSC was completely wrong here.
Both sides agreed that Mbah started his NYSC in 2001, did 6 months & then requested for a 1 yr deferment which was granted in 2002. After 1 yr, he was granted reinstatement.

It does not make any sense and is incorrect. We currently produce 1.4 mln bpd. If that represents 5% of what we actually produce, then it means we actually produce 28 mln bpd and 26.6 mln bpd is stolen. I am ashamed that Nigerians cannot do this simple math.

The type of fertilizer from the Morocco deal (phosphate based) is different from the Dangote fertilizer (urea or nitro based).
Normally both will be blended together with other components to obtain an NPK (nitro-phos-ka) fertilizer which can be better. That is part of the plan.

FEDERATION REVENUE in the 1940s included customs revenue & tax revenue. As shown below, tax revenue ~GBP 1.8 mln was ~17% of total revenue (~GBP 9 mln).
The Northern region contributed 71% of TAX revenue NOT federation revenue.
Nigeria withdrew from the regional government when the North was abundant in agricultural resources due to concerns about economic inequality and marginalization.
Also, in 1943, the North contributed 71% to the federation account, while the Eastern and Western regions

One of the things that excites me about Segment 1 of the Lagos-Calabar coastal road is that it makes the proposed Lagos Green Line (Marina to Lekki) more feasible.
Following the coastal road (with a dedicated rail ROW) is easier than the current plan via Lekki-Epe expressway.

🤣 The depressed flash points are very easy to explain. They mixed PMS & diesel. Retailers do this to get better profit. Essentially buying PMS at NNPCL’s ~N650 & selling it at ~N1400.
It has loooong been speculated that this is what we have been getting by subsidizing PMS!!
Test Results from AGO (Diesel) samples collected in some filling stations.
Sulphur Content for AGO (Diesel) collected from Matrix and Total was found to be 2,631ppm and 1,829ppm respectively while that of Dangote stood at 87.6ppm. Meanwhile the Standard Specification should not

Please note the PIB does not say anything about “oil producing communities”. It talks about “HOST communities”.
The last I heard, a host community may be one that hosts an upstream, midstream or downstream facility e.g. a pipeline. It is not clear if they changed the definition.

In 2016, the UK produced ~1 mln bpd of crude & had a refining capacity >1.1 mln bpd of crude.
Yet, they still imported almost 0.8 mln bpd of crude for their refineries.
Why?
Their refineries get better margins by using crude (e.g. WTI) that is cheaper than their Brent crude.

The N in NPK is from urea which is made from methane which comes from oil production. Covid caused low demand for oil and associated gas production went down. This made NPK more expensive. No be Nigeria fault.

Just ONE port in Togo (Lomé Deep Sea port) does more TEUs (2.2 million) than ALL our Nigerian ports (1.71 million) in 2022.
Interesting that our port volumes have essentially stagnated. Will be interesting to see if the advent of the Lekki Deep Sea port in 2023 will improve things. If not, then all those campaigning for more deep sea ports will be extremely hard pressed to get private funding.

It is definitely not weekly. The BDCs (in their letter to CBN complaining about the rate) called them 1st & 2nd tranche.
It seems CBN has only released all of the 1st tranche. Most of the 2nd tranche hasn’t been released (based on the BDC letter).
