This call to 999 was about the noise being generated by a police helicopter. They were searching for a missing women who was later found with serious injuries to her arms.

They were well organised, as one group distracted me, the rest closed in behind to lick and chew anything in reach. Thanks to the farmer for enticing them away with food.

Forces have strict deployment criteria and we are held to account by forces for flight time, right down to the minute. We don't patrol for fun & the jobs we go to are the very serious ones, often the ones where people are going to die. We are very privileged to be able to help.
The vast majority of our deployments especially at night involve an immediate risk to life, usually a high risk missing person in need of urgent help.
We make no apology for prioritising human life over disturbing people and will work tirelessly to keep people safe 👍 ^GMO

Overhead Derby this morning we suffered a prolonged laser strike which led to two of the aircraft crew being hit in the eyes. Our sensors can pinpoint the location almost immediately.

Nala was an outstanding & talented dog, we had numerous results working closely as a team with her, sometimes no doubt saving peoples lives. We are very sad to hear of her passing. Sleep tight girl. ^RE
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of retired PD Nala. Very sadly, due to ill health, Nala had to be put to sleep on Monday. She will be very sadly missed by all who knew her and our thoughts are with her handler Sean and his family 💔🌈

Exciting news from the project team today. Certification approved to carry air deployable drones to the scenes of incidents. No more issues with traffic and getting stuck on the way to a job. We can now fly them straight to the scene and deploy mid flight. Impressive stuff!
