Yesterday was a tough day. An officer from Newtown was repeatedly punched while on the floor causing numerous facial injuries that required hospital treatment. Despite her injuries she was still restraining the offender when colleagues arrived.

Bournville A unit responded to an ‘all out’ shout this afternoon to a report of a toddler being abducted and items stolen in the Longbridge area. We flooded the area and the child was safely located and reunited with mum and suspect arrested all within about half an hour. KS

Newtown officers have chased this bus for over 4 miles from the city out towards kitts green after a 5 year old got separated from her family. Mum’s complete relief was a joy to see and a happy ending all round when the child was found asleep on the bus. The gaffa even got a hug.
