help in its diagnosis, treatment, and prevention? Find out on my blog!
#NIH
After 12+ years of serving this great agency, today is my last day as
#NIH
Director. It's been a true honor and privilege to serve the "National Institutes of Hope" as I've often called
#NIH
. I'm looking forward to returning to
@genome_gov
& considering what to do when I grow up.
My friend & colleague
@NIAIDNews
Director Dr. Anthony Fauci was awarded one of Italy's highest honors by the President of Italy, the Grand Cross of Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, for his service and leadership during the
#COVID19
pandemic. Congrats, Tony!
Honored that President-Elect
@JoeBiden
has asked me to continue in my role as Director of the National Institutes of Health. I will do my best to continue to lead this great agency, especially when NIH’s role in fighting this pandemic is so critical.
Ending the
#manel
begins at the top. Starting now, I expect a level playing field at public speaking events with a diversity of ideas or I will decline to participate. I challenge other leaders to do the same.
#NIH

My wife Diane and I are grieving with the rest of the country on the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a titan of constitutional law whose contributions to justice and equity will live on. We had the privilege of getting to know her; we will always cherish those memories.
#RIPRBG
Let me clarify the masking message that I garbled on
@NewDay
this morning. Vaccinated parents who live in communities with high COVID transmission rates should mask when out in public indoor settings to minimize risks to their unvaccinated kids. No need to mask at home.
To help us get an better understanding of how much
#COVID19
has spread undetected in the US,
#NIH
will study ~10K volunteers without a confirmed history of infection to see if they have SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in their system, indicating prior infection
I’m deeply saddened by the passing of John Lewis. He led the establishment of
