Why do people react negatively when told they are privileged? Privilege doesn’t mean you’re rich, a bad person, have had everything handed to you or have never had challenges or struggles. It means there are some challenges and struggles you wont experience because of who you are

Sometimes I really do hate this profession! I have spoken to so many aspiring Clin Psychs who are distraught with the rejections of interview and have no idea how to process/deal with this. We have to do better to safeguard everyone!!!!! We can't assume everyone is simply okay!

Working at a neuro service has got me thinking about all the people I know who have been "bottled, bricked, whacked" over the head which could have led to a traumatic brain injury. Awareness and prevention are key!

Working for the NHS constantly reminds me of the red tape EVRYWHERE. I got "told off" for sitting in a room with an inmate because he was closest to the door. No appreciation for the amazing psychological work we are doing. No compassion that he needs to feel safe too. The irony!

When we think about stigma from the Black community towards therapy, I wonder if what we really mean is that Eurocentric therapy is frowned upon by the Black community because it doesn't touch/heal/speak to their spirit and soul the way it should. Let's locate the issue correctly

Psychologists are not perfect, nor should they be! We are flawed and so is the profession. When tackling your applications for training, keep this in mind. Show humility in both what you know and what you don’t. And remember to be human, not a robot.

The end of placement has arrived. I have learnt new skills, sharpened old ones and done what I felt was valuable for others. Negotiating with imposter syndrome, beliefs about my competency and taking off my CBT/IAPT hat has been challenging but helpful. Feeling appreciated ❤️
