When humanity finally arrives at its utopian society, it won't be due to shared ideology. What will be shared is an infinite humility. I'm guessing we're at least 8 – 10 millennia away, so until then, we'd might as well amuse ourselves by watching everyone scream at each other.

What differentiates an "advanced being", if everything is a manifestation of a foundational intelligence? Here's my premise: 1) Mind/consciousness is foundational to existence 2) What we describe as physical reality is in fact a manifestation of that transcendent consciousness 3) There's a plethora of anecdotal evidence supporting the premise that there are additional realms beyond this one, all of which are also manifestations of the same transcendent consciousness 4a) And finally (and what started this discussion) human history is cyclical over vast time scales related to the influence of the intellectual and intuitive aspects of mind on humanity 4b) When intellect is ascendant (as in today), all of the above is assumed to be nonsense, and when the intuitive is ascendant, all of the above is accepted as obvious

@Cernovich I'm sure the property owners will be thrilled to share low income housing with their new neighbors. After all, they've been voting for it for decades.

@PhysInHistory Physics discovered over a century ago that scientific inquiry couldn't be separated from philosophical implications. Didn't matter. Those attached to the great machine hypothesis simply said, "shut up and calculate". And here we are.

@Assilemann @DefiyantlyFree But the Dems did do while facing pseudo opposition from the entire Republican apparatus. Bush, McConnell, McCain, Romney and likely hundreds of others all benefitted directly from the monstrosity they've created.

If there's any questions about what's driving the current outrage directed at DOGE...

The calculus for joining government is radically changing. The promise of gaining control of enormous dark money government slush funds and routing them to your friends who stand up totally vague and nebulous NGOs that then launder the money back to you and your other friends, is disappearing before our eyes. People who go into public service will actually have to be motivated by public service, not by kleptocratic, self-enrichment schemes. If they want to get rich, they will have to write a book or "produce" some show or documentary for Netflix that no one watches.

Odd to hear the outrage about this. The leadership in West, exemplified by the Democratic Party in the US, the EU, the UN, the WEF, and dozens of other organizations have been demonizing white people for decades. An explicit "final solution" to their efforts has now surfaced.

Julius Malema’s anti-white rhetoric is downplayed by the likes of the New York Times and other legacy publications. In his own words, he says "We will kill white women, children, and their pets.” This is mainstream politics in South Africa.

@AlexBerenson All addictive behavior is symptomatic of the mental health crisis, and the mental health crisis is symptomatic of flawed foundational metaphysics that our entire culture relies upon. Imposing totalitarianism to support a flawed metaphysics is one solution, I suppose.

@Soltonomy @EthicalSkeptic The ego is delusion, as is our obsession with perceptions as we ignore what we're perceiving with. Still, there's vast amounts of literature and anecdotal evidence that the ego delusion does survive physical death, and that there are many realms of existence beyond this one.

@philthatremains It must be exhausting to live with a mind in a state of continual reactivity. Constantly freaking oneself out with a steady stream of terrifying thoughts.

@Soltonomy @EthicalSkeptic I have absolute conviction that consciousness survives physical death. How could it be otherwise when all that exists is derivative of consciousness? The real question is does the ego survive? We all put a lot of effort into crafting our narratives. Do we keep on believing it?

@Soltonomy @EthicalSkeptic I'd suggest that everything, including influential "beings" are ultimately derivative of, or manifestations of, what Parmenides described as "Being". Our default setting seems to be to investigate endless perceptions while ignoring what we're doing all of the perceiving with.

@Cernovich Biden was incapacitated for his entire term, and his entire cabinet and administration were active participants in concealing that. Security clearances should be unilaterally revoked from every member of his administration for defrauding the public for 4 years.

@Deepfryguy76 @EthicalSkeptic @dmt_quest I've come across similar speculation suggesting that the orientation of the solar system relative to the galaxy and a related increased effect of cosmic rays over precession cycles influenced levels of consciousness globally, though it didn't suggest a DMT mechanism.

In the cycle? It seems pretty obvious to me that the influence of intellect has been waxing for centuries, if not millennia, with a concurrent waning of the intuitive. As ES puts it in his conclusion, regard for the intuitive, spiritual aspect has been discarded, with any reference to the sacred or divine cast off as relics of a primitive existence we have now risen above. (Never mind that the misery index keeps climbing).
