I am becoming a writer and video essayist. Pledging here will help this to become a more regular thing and continue to exist. My blog is in the bio near location.
What nonbinary isn't
-Man lite
-Woman lite
-Gay but louder
-Tomboy but louder
-Ruining the trans community
-A trend
-Something teens do
-A stepping stone to a binary trans identity
-GNC cis
What nonbinary is
-A gender that isn't exclusively a man or a woman.
Transfemmes: I want bigger boobs
Cis women: No you don't, I have friends who have larger breasts and they have awful back pain.
Hey cis ladies can you not?
If you're an lgbtq+ teenager, please listen to this. Queerness is messy, don't worry about definitions, use the words that feel right on you to convey the best fitting perception of yourself that others should know about you.
@NightlingBug
Transphobes, especially TERFs, are so used to shitting on transfemmes that they forget that trans men and transmascs exist.
Transmisogyny is so wild.
How many trans people, especially those who started transition as adults (doubly so if older than I), feel a lost youth? Missed on a childhood that matched with your real gender, wish you didn't had to be your agab?
@WolfeHowles
@Monkey2Bubble
As much as I get annoyed at the CisHets™️ I think our goals achieved would mean dissolution of any barriers between gay and straight, queer and unqueer, and so forth. Like gender and sexuality are complex spectral identities no?
@2hu_crunchwrap
Cis allies: "H- I mean she. I am so SORRY! Adjusting your pronouns is so hard, it's like such an old habit and I cannot break it, just beat me up if, no when, inevitably misgender you again"
@ponettplus
@JUNIUS_64
He went with Netflix and he had already worked with his last project with Disney. The Owl House did get done dirty and Dana had fought just as hard
@confusedophan
I love it when transphobes accidentally validate transmasculine people.
Though they are primarily transmisogynist but I'm glad you can enjoy their ignorance in antagonism.

"I want to be read as a woman by strangers and a soup of genders by my friends"
Oof, this is the transfemme enby mood.
A lot of the queer/lgbt+ discourse on this site is driven by teenagers often ages 14-19, though with some 18-24 year old young adults. Either way, we have the younger generation who may or may not realize that they are rehashing tired old tumblr wars.
Nonbinary people can use she/her (I use that)
Nonbinary people can use he/him
Nonbinary people can use both and alternate.
Nonbinary people can use any pronouns.
We don’t have to use they/them.
Trans women are like: I wanna be an anime girl!
Trans men are like: I wanna be a buff action movie hero!
Nonbinary people are like: hmm do I wanna be a dark eldritch void or a sparkly fae creature?
It should not cost more than a $100 to change your name
No wait let's take it to the next step:
It should not cost anything to change your name. I didn't have to pay anything for my deadname, so why did I have to for my real name?
This isn't a fandom that is seeking out to have tightly written canon surrounding the source material. This is just a bunch of people who have marginalized by the society they live just for being themselves in these specific categories of sexuality and gender.
What is a lesbian/gay/bisexual/trans/nonbinary? Who cares, just use what fits best.
But even so, each definition raises questions for every question it sought to answer.
Don't force a label, just feel out your attraction, sort out your gender, do what best represents your own self perceptions and how you use it to interact with others in context where it is relevant.
It's 2025
A tactical nuke goes off in your neigborhood, and then admits the fall out you see a bright baby blue hue.
Out of the blue you hear "yeehaw my child has a dick" before you perish among the plutonium.
You have died of gender reveal.
We unite to build solidarity, a community. We organized for our own collective liberation from the norms and rules that crush us and our expression of love, authenticity, and well-being.
@AmazonChique
Kamala Harris wasn’t perfect but she did push for California to ban the trans panic defence. Also the prison system is transphobic, stuff like that happens beyond the attorney general’s grasp.
@comradevenustas
I've told my parents I wanted to change my name years before I realized I was trans, but they told me I shouldn't give up my "god given" name
So, when I started to transition, the name was kept hidden, it was until I had filed paperwork at the courthouse, I told them about it.
@GrayAthene
I bet most TradCaths were Protestants (mainline or evangelical) who just like the aesthetics and were not raised Catholic. You can tell who was and who wasn't raised Catholic.
I'm genderqueer and my partners call me their girlfriend.
I'm not always a woman or 100% female.
Non-binary people can be called boyfriends or girlfriends, or even both, by the people they date.
We don't have to use gender neutrality all the time.
Bisexuality is the sexual attraction to two or more genders.
Stop saying "bisexuality is when you like men and women" because that's not how most bi+ people defined it.
@confusedophan
Exactly, it's like this.
Cis people to binary trans people: Wow, you're some best of both worlds! It's like I'm getting a man and a woman at the same time!
The same cis people to nonbinary trans people: You're either a man or a woman, pick one, you can't be something else!
There needs to be a database called "Is this old movie transphobic?"
Just so I don't watch a movie that I'm nostalgic for only to find transphobia as humor.
Trans and gender questioning people are almost never pressured to transition, almost often they are repressed, told they need to wait, or they get:
"Why can't you just be a gender non-conforming (assigned gender at birth)?"
"Nonbinary people are a recent thing"
Bisexual activists 30 years ago: Bisexuality includes nonbinary people
The designer of the trans pride flag: *puts explicit nonbinary representation.
@MarxistTwink
As a historian, all sources are biased and that’s not necessarily bad. Anyone who wants an “unbiased” source is asking for one that conforms to their own preconceived ideas.
The real divide between millennials and GenZ is what they think of when they hear of the phrase Tik Tok
If you think of Ke$ha, you're a millennial
If you think of the vine-like app, you're a zoomer.
And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, you're a boomer.
"Nonbinary people are valid"
Yes we know; we are all valid.
However, if it follows trans women are women and trans men are posts, please say nonbinary people are nonbinary.
Nonbinary people are equal to men and women, not little children who need to be constantly validated.
Friendly reminder that trans women and transfem non-binary people on HRT can get periods. We do not menstruate and we do not claim to. I never once claimed to but like what else would describe my hormonal cycles and symptoms that match up with menstrual cycles of cis women?
@maidensblade
It's more accurate to just say “If cis men could pregnant abortions would be free”, that's what they mean, because they're thinking only about cis people anyway.
Cw: genitals
Does anyone get frustrated at how some cis lesbians talk about penises?
It’s ok to not want dick but don’t call and compare me and non-op/pre-op transfemmes to men because of that body part. However that what sometimes genitalia preferences can be, a smokescreen.
@DegenerateThing
As an egg I remember cishet women dropping me as potential partner the moment they smelled my queerness, bisexuality, and hidden femininity. Gay and queer men were more ok with crossdressing in my experience but in the end not the right people for me haha
I feel like I am one of the few trans girls who actually likes having a dick? I’m sure I am not. But like it seems like everyone is getting grs or has had it. Idk what this tweet is supposed to mean.
@genderemo
Because they're not creative with names and assume we are not either.
I picked the names that I vibed with, I don't think there really was a feminine version of my deadname anyway. But trans people always have the best names tbh.
Cis people are like: “Ah yes this person wearing a dress and glittery makeup and has long hair clearly uses he/him”
Does my voice resonance override it? How much more glitter spaghetti I must wear to stop getting misgendered
@mlmnblmlove
Hi, transfemme here. Femboy is not a slur. Sometimes it gets used to misgender but that’s not what a slur means. I think it’s a perfectly apt term to describe feminine gnc men, whether cis or trans. Also not all fem/gnc men are gay. Being gay and gnc aren’t the same.
If transitioning ever becomes illegal what will you do as an ally?
I am asking my cis friends and family primarily. I know my trans siblings and comrades will be likely help.
Transfem: HRT is giving me all the period symptoms except for menstrual bleeding, only uterus-havers bleed like that, I know I don't have a uterus, but my hormones don't care.
Cis person: Uh sweaty, periods are just when you bleed, the more you bleed, the more period it is. BLEED
