It's almost like permanently isolating a person from their lifelong passion and forcing them to be unable to connect with others who share that passion is going to have a negative effect on that person's mental health. I truly, truly hate the smash community. It's so abusive.
I’m in a dire life situation and need help. I plead for the Melee community to unban me for the reasons explained, as I have nowhere to go without you all.

I do think he should have been banned for slandering a fellow competitor as "Hitler." I wouldn't say it be permanent though. To then make jokes/statements about his declining mental health and not see the correlation between isolating him and the decline is awful.

I do not think every man in the smash scene is bad. My best friends I've made in this scene are men. But there are so many creeps and weirdos in this scene that thrive off the lack of punishment and accountability of their actions, so you need to do this to protect yourself.

I don't exaggerate this btw. I almost killed myself in December over the abuse I've endured in the scene. Then the lovely resident incels in my scene slandered, mobbed, and harassed me for no reason with no remorse & almost made go back and do it again as a birthday gift. :)

I'm glad my retirement post reached so many girls and young women. Those are the people I cared about, I never want a single other woman to end up like me. In this scene alone with 0 guidance or help. I know I'll be disregarded by a lot of ppl but it's ok if it reaches them.

Being rejected doesn't mean you're wrong or not good enough. It just means that group/person doesn't see your value. It has nothing to do with you, and you should not fear rejection. Just find the people who *do* see your value, and cherish them.

When I used to stream, I'd talk in a fake, "professional" voice bc I was scared of ppl bothering me if i spoke naturally. I've been picked on a lot for sounding "high" or "sing-songy." When I stream splatoon 3 I'm gonna talk like me. I love authenticity even if the world doesn't.

Not every man is going to do that. I've met so many great men in this scene that I love dearly. But some men absolutely will and you have to make these precautions to protect yourself from abuse. It doesn't help that there's almost no consequences for if the abuse happens.
