I’d absolutely get behind this.
This is the position on trans people the Democratic Party should retreat to. ✅ medical transition has to go back to the old school criteria. Extensive therapy, approval by doctors, formal letters written. no more of this self ID nonsense. ✅ no more trans women in women’s sports ✅ stop introducing ideas that confuse children about their gender in school ✅ End this non-binary nonsense today. Writing sex out of law is insanity and only hurts women. There is no medical evidence for any of it, and in 10 years we’ll look at it as the social craze it is. ✅ bathrooms for trans people on a medical pathway, yes. But no woman should ever see a penis in a single sex area. ✅ With all of that said, if you’re meeting the medical criteria being transsexual is a medical issue. It’s appropriate for private insurance to pay for treatment. I’m sure some of the fringe on both sides will scream about this, but this is a middle ground almost all Americans can get on board with. By giving up the worst ideas, you will actually protect trans people.

@ShimonLazarov and I talk about this all the time. The panic over @deepseek_ai is overblown. They innovated cost models - big to be sure but very Chinese. The Chinese are great at optimization of the existing. Not creating the net new. Most AI breakthrough is still coming out of the US. This is all if you believe the story that they didn’t train DeepSeek with their 50,000 NVIDIA chip cluster. So stop downloading Chinese spyware apps on your phones people!
