Together we can ensure that 60% of trips in MPLS are made by bike, walk, or bus by 2030.

It was suggested that if we didn’t vote in support we would be stalling the process for community engagement. I want to be clear, council support is not needed for the administration to do this, nor is it legally required. They should allow the community to weigh in.

Yesterday there was a shooting that officers responded to on the 2200 Block of Blaisdell Ave S.
It was confirmed that Officer Jamal Mitchell was killed on duty. My heart goes out to him, his family, and loved ones. This is an immense tragedy & loss. 1/5

Today we passed a resolution recognizing the organizing efforts made by the Shut Down Smith Coalition that led to the full closure of Smith Foundry- a heavy industrial facility were iron castings were made, leading to increased air pollution in the East Phillips neighborhoods.

The Legacy Building at 4024 E 46th Street is a community-focused space that hosts events, workshops and gatherings. Owners Fancy & Emmanuel (who are also the hip-hop duo iLLism!), founded the Legacy Building to serve as a hub for educational, cultural, and wellness activities.

The agreement is for the state legislature to include the agreed 1.27 per mile rate, and the City Council Members to bring 1.27 as well. This rate has moved through all committees at the state so far, including passing in ways and means in the house this morning.
