gen 3. gen 4's map sucks. it has great legendaries though and I like the resource management with hms in idea but sinnoh is such a dull bad region with awful dungeons derivative and inferior to the gen 1 counterparts. also sandwichtwo's design was solidified in gen 4

I didn't watch the last 2 but the first one was awful. jj abrams literally admitted they filmed stuff without a script. it has no depth meaning or idea behind anything none of the characters had arcs and it was just a planet jumping visual spectacle with no logic.

erm one's an open world action game defined by the interactivity of the world the other is an open area rpg? not everying in an rgp is supposed to be interactive it's about finding what is. besides there was plenty of sidequests in legends arceus at least the first few areas
