PSA: It is the month of June and you'll probably see a lot more soldiers, armored vehicles, and aircraft than usual. This is just the annual training that the National Guard and Reserve do every summer around June. Every year I see people panic about the sudden troop movements.

F-15 screw this. F-15 screw that. But F-15 can glide without that screw. Why does no one ever talk about our Jesus Nut for us rotary wing guys? That thing fails and the main rotor flies off leaving the helicopter to crash like a brick. No auto rotate to save you anymore.

The reason we don't use a dedicated aircrew gun on Blackhawks is Because the Blackhawk has 4 in built gun mounts to stow M4s. 2 for the pilots and 2 for the crew chiefs.

I fucking know someone who would shoot these, and magically come out alive with 0 jams. My fucking drill sergeant uses to scour the range for unspent rounds and shoot them at the end of range. No matter what condition the rounds were in. I explicitly remember dented cases firing.

I can proudly say as a guard air assault unit we have probably saved more lives and land than any active duty air assault unit. Though I don't imagine most active duty air assault units doing firefighting for months and years on end lol.
