Went I went to get my degree I was weighing CS vs civil. CS you can teach yourself online, civil has to be certified, licensed, pass the FE and PE, etc, so I chose civil. Our graduating class of civil engineers was so much smaller compared to the CS guys.

Also just a point about the fantasy genre - in Harry Potter they'll make spells and whatnot Latin based to sound foreign and cool. In fantasy anime they'll say stuff in English instead.
