In the new "Proud Family" episode that dropped on Disney+ today, one character chooses not to defend the children of gay parents from discrimination, because she's running for class president and wants to remain neutral. Amazing timing for this episode.

Remembering that "The Mitchells vs. the Machines" was about an aspiring filmmaker who just wants to showcase the art she created, but then has to defeat the AI plotting to make human beings obsolete. Well, that film has certainly gotten more topical.

"The reception of 'Into the Spider-Verse' was sort of like encouragement from the whole world. People want to see new stories and people want to see fresh animation styles. How can we make our movies more different and more unique?"

Can someone go back in time to when David Zaslav learned about tax write-offs and distract him? If even a James Gunn-produced film isn't safe, it makes me wonder why anyone would decide to pitch a movie to Warner Bros.

A little over a year after the shelving of 'Batgirl' sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood, Warner Bros. is putting another of its films in the studio vault. The studio no longer plans to release 'Coyote vs. Acme'

I don't understand why companies and especially people are so obsessed with wanting corporate mergers to happen nowadays. "Sony should buy Viacom!" "Amazon should buy MGM!" "Nintendo should buy Penguin Random House!" We don't need more mergers. Please.

We're doing a sequel. The studio wants to revive. While they wait for Tom Hanks to make Toy Story 5. (But seriously, can we please have a new Muppet movie, too?)

"The LEGO Movie 2" really went ahead and said "hey, just because you're cynical and think being hopeful and looking at the bright side is stupid, that doesn't give you the right to force others to be as cynical as you." Respect.

"Behold, Perry the Platypus! The N.F.T.-inator! It creates ugly monkey drawings that people will think are smart investments, but are actually completely worthless! Although, for some reason, it also hurts the environment. Weird side effect."

@LardizabalSosa I didn't say anything about it being the first film to tackle an AI uprising. I have seen The Terminator and Terminator 2. An artist going up against AI just feels relevant to current concerns about the technology is all I'm getting at.

Please no. No more big studio mergers. I do not trust David "tax write-off" Zaslav with the Nicktoons and Star Trek.

Went to a presentation for Disney's #Wish , where they showed concept work, animation tests and a few scenes from the film, including two of the songs. Looks really promising. I think the wishing star will be an audience favourite.

If social media existed in 1992 and people saw set photos of Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo as the Mario Bros, I wonder what the reaction would be.

I didn't expect the marketing to start so early! Chris Sanders is a director whose films always generate excitement from me and they always deliver, so this yet again looks up my alley.

@Animated_Antic It's odd seeing articles complain that Pete Docter is a chill, friendly boss. Because how dare the head of an animation studio treat the filmmakers working for him with respect. Also, if you read up on the making of Inside Out, Docter can be tough on himself

Drawing a cartoon character with a bean-shaped smile is perfectly fine and a more than acceptable design choice. Stop attributing an art style to a single school. The irrational hatred for any modern cartoon style is getting so tiring.
