So it's been a rough month and thought I'd share an update. Hopefully getting back into a normal swing soon. Started off just super busy and then as that wound down had some health issues with my son. It was tough but got it figured out and was able to get him in for a minor

It's funny how finding the original stone diamonds is more exciting than it used to be since they are so rare. The deepslate ones look cooler but I still love finding these.

Needed to clean up the mess of chests down in the cave so we built a deepslate stalagmite storage building. Blends into the cave pretty well and adds plenty of storage for when we are down here and don't want to run back to the base.

There was a giant prehistoric bird in the overworld but all that remains are the fossilized droppings and a few bones underground

Busy weekend but we did make more progress on the kids survival worlds. Third level and roof finished. Few details left with the windows and lighting but he's itching to go to the nether so going to get a portal up next.

Found our first cherry biome and my daughter is completely amazed. We spent probably 20 minutes just running around and staring at it. This is on a new world, and looks like our starter house is going to be cherry wood lol. So far loving Minecraft 1.20 😄

For anyone on bedrock looking to trim chunks before upgrading to 1.17 the
@amulet_editor
works well. I tested it on our 1.16 survival world and it worked without any issues that I could find. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

We brought the road down into the village from the keep and have been planting trees around to fill in some more of the forest. Night view of the keep looks pretty nice with the lighting.

wool farm for blue carpet in the mansion and it's been working great. Only thing I can think of is it was struck by lightning which killed the sheep and cooked the meat.

Found this in one of the chunks that generated new terrain below the old bedrock, this spawner just barely made it under the new deepslate roof.

Updated the tunnel design and fired a few blocks in the furnace to get the cracked versions. I originally didn't think I would do more than a few accents with the copper blocks but I'm really liking them.

Been busy this week but did manage to finish up the new storage silos in the woodland mansion. Took just a few chests and hoppers. Still some more work to do on the rest of the room but it's definitely expanded our storage.

We started the work on the interior of the Keep build, setting up the main hall, stairs to the walls, and entry area. It was a nice change from the walls and towers for a little bit.

First Melon/Pumpkin farm my daughter has built completely on her own. I just went and grabbed the seeds for her to plant. Design is all her, turned out pretty great, walled out the slimes and even used slabs on the water sources :)

After a long break for work, vacation, then getting kids back to school I finally had time to get back to the minecraft Mansion update. Upper level and most of one side done, hopefully finish it out in a day or two and will have some more pics up.

The mangrove wood goes pretty well with deepslate. Still slightly more on the red side than I would prefer but I am liking it anyway

I did some testing on an old world and at least on mine every one of the random loaded chunks contained a structure, either above ground or a dungeon down below. Seems any structure within render distance loads the chunk.

Made it to day 999 in hardcore! Realized when my daughter pointed it out that I have been leaving my totem and fire resistance stuff at base this whole time... while digging and building in the Nether. Not my brightest move but still alive.

Been working on a semi-secret project on our mansion server for a little bit, going to start sharing more of it next week. Custom painting gives a hint of what it will be, a throwback to my childhood :)

Went a little over the top with the slime farm, no idea what I will do with all the slime from it but once I got on a roll just kept going. Skeleton area cleaned up and ready for the details as well.

The latest beta update still isn't showing available for my pc yet, so I updated the Axolotl tank in the mansion. The stained glass made it a bit dark but I like the look.

Walls in and walkways set so now for the new river section, going to curve it a little earlier so it comes around and meets the geode area near the corner.

New post up for hiding crafting stations in the castle storage room. Used a map table to hide them on the
@kingdoms_smp
world. I even survived a polar bear attack while making the maps 😀, mama bear didn't take kindly to me.

Found our first deepslate emerald ore last night, considering how much of this stuff we mined for the mansion and tunnels it took forever. Kept finding an emerald ore right on the edge of the deepslate but not in it.

Put together a write up on the ruined tower build for the zombie farm. We use this more for fun than actual farming but the xp and drops are decent as well. Going to try to get a video put up this weekend.

Wrapping up the Geode, roof on and lighting done. I used glow lichen hidden inside the geode to keep it lit up without too many lights visible. So far nothing is spawning inside but will have to keep checking.

Thanks to the whole paperhat crew for welcoming me into their smp! It's been a blast getting started and meeting everyone. Even more of a blast than an exploding bed in the nether 😉. Planning my first stream from paperhats tomorrow at noon CST to get my house built at spawn.

Getting bonus mobs in the skeleton farm, takes them awhile to work through the elevator but they don't seem to slow down the skeletons any.

Been working on a villager and bee powered farm in the village and got it working pretty well. Have an issue with the bees sometimes pushing the villager out of place though so may have to bring the roof up a block.

Missed posting the latest progress pic of the temple. I've been playing with designs for the ceiling and am getting close to what I want there. Got a little side tracked setting up some commands and a game for chat, should have something interesting ready for the next stream :)

So my daughter banned me from mining the big geode right by our base and instead wants to keep it and build a display around it. Got most of the lower half cleared and harvested several crystals so we now have one of each size for our collection plus made us 3 spyglasses.
