There is only one possible replacement for the red arrows.
Disappointingly, one SDR option to save money is to axe the RAF's Red Arrows. Watching the team's superlative flying skills have inspired many youngsters to become RAF pilots. The Red Arrows are an emblem of Britain, so it would be very sad if we lost them. But...

I imagine you’d have to go a LONG way back to find the last time a sitting MP received an operational gallantry award. 2024 has been an insane year for Col Carns.
I am enormously grateful and proud to have been awarded a DSO in the King’s New Year’s Honours list. Commanding on operations, and having the chance to serve at that level, is hugely rewarding and I would do it again given the chance. This honour is a high watermark. It is humbling for me personally, but also for the recognition of the incredible teams that I have commanded and worked with to achieve extraordinary and courageous things for our nation. This award recognises them. Surround yourself with the best people, prioritise, provide boundaries, then delegate, and you will see magic happen. On my behalf and theirs, thank you for this honour. Wishing you all a happy and prosperous new year. #DSO #distinguishedserviceorder #NewYearsHonours #NewYearsHonoursList
