I was walking down Sunset, looking at the new poster for Fall of the House of Usher, and there is a photo of Bruce Greenwood with a shadow of a crow over his face, and I looked above and saw on the ledge of the billboard there was a live crow — staring at him. 😳

It's never been about the money. It's that the stories are not 'emotional events'. Not just crash/bash/boom. They aren't EMOTIONALLY resonating with us. That's the bottom line. It's like they aren't made for us, the audience, but for the entertainment system.

I have friends who have produced it, so let's hope for the best and know that some are bitter, angry critics whose reviews are out for blood. It hasn't sunk unless future audiences decide it has. The actors have worked very hard to create something new.

I saw it when it came out. It was shocking. Take Off With Us caused the theater to go into a stunned silence. Jessica Lange as Death, the finale dance numbers, the repetition "showtime!", the TRUE NYC of 1979. It's genius, misunderstood at the time, today: stunning.
