I have a hot-take coming, y'all ready: I don't think the overdue aspect of Bradley Cooper will amount to anything. Not saying he's not overdue, 9 noms and no wins is a lot, but I don't think the industry is as compelled to that kind of narrative as we are.
Look, I want Cillian Murphy to win too. It IS the better performance, one that will last. But Bradley Cooper has the showier role and has gone a decade with tons of nominations and almost zero wins. He’ll likely take Best Actor at Golden Globes, SAG, and Oscars, prepare yourself.
