Welp, my deeply supportive partner opines that I don’t need beard removal because it won’t change the way I look and I should “rethink this whole thing.” The word “ridiculous “ found its way in somewhere as well. I realize cis people don’t get it, but jeeze. ☹️

Reproductive anatomy are karyotypes are data. Humans analyze them: emphasize some, ignore others — and come up with categories like sex and gender. GCers are right about the objective reality of a particular datum, wrong that there is only one way to categorize them.

I think many GCs demand not only sex segregation (using reductive, traditional definitions of sex) but a very high degree of conformity to gender norms as well. They’ll argue the latter but it seems true. Perhaps they rely to a degree on gender conformity to determine sex.

Eloquent thread. I turned 13 in 1966 in a small red state city. Not only did I not know the language, I don’t think it existed at all anywhere. I had transsexual/transvestite/homosexual and any number of slurs. The world has come a long way.

Started a couple of years ago at 65. Still struggling with it, primarily because of its possibly fatal impact on my marriage. But it is absolutely the right road for me, fugly and non-passing through I may be. Not doing so feels like dying without ever having fully lived.
