The "free public education" we already pay for, K-12, is paid by local school taxes. Even with 0 children in school, my taxes were $12k+/year & climbing (in NY). Having owned a home there 1980-2016, 36x $10k (average), I've already paid $360,000 for "free" public education. GFY

That's the only way to look at it. My grandfather never went to school, yet he owned a business. His wife, my grandmother, graduated 8th grade, and became a book keeper at age 14. They owned a home, survived the depression, both their children went to college on scholarship. 👍🏼
