I entered a photo of Polly & I in the 2023 OH State Parks Photo Contest, & we won 2nd place out of ~3,000 entries for best photo taken within an Ohio State Park!
Thanks to
@ohstateparks
for choosing our photo! Can’t wait to spend many more hours in our state parks this year.💚
My heart is with Logan County this morning.
Insurmountable damage near Indian Lake, & I expect daybreak will reveal much more. At least 6 are dead in the area, after several tornado warnings & very clear rotation yesterday evening.
@delaneyruthtv
gives us a look at the damage:
We had some fun with Crew Cat and S.C. this morning! They helped me give the forecast for the
#MLSCup
final in Columbus this Saturday.
We also made our score predictions. GO CREW!

@nbc4i
Got 22 miles in on the new bike, Olentangy Trail from Worthington to Ohio State. Such a nice day for a ride.
Saw flowers, deer, kids playing HS sports, disc golfers (not
@DaveNBC4
😉), cute doggos…
Made my ♥️ happy. Spring is almost here 🥹🌼🙌🏼
We’re outside
#BrianLaundrie
’s home in North Port. Police tell us they will soon move us back away from the house. I was also told to move my car so that the FBI didn’t come in and tow it. FBI is not here right now.
ON AIR DEBUT ✅
I’m so thrilled to be joining the
@nbc4i
#StormTeam4
team. And I want to say HELLO to all the new followers from here in Columbus! Since I’m new, I need all the recommendations! Dog parks, restaurants, places to see, etc. I can’t wait to explore my new city! 💙
The hardest part about my job for the next 7 days is trying to figure out how many different ways I can say "mild, dry, & sunny" in order to avoid being repetitive... 😂
7 day is . 😎🥳
#ohwx
@nbc4i
Look who I found?!
@JimCantore
himself! He’s been in Columbus covering the storm, so I stopped to chat with him. His message to Ohioans: stay safe, and we’ll get through the storm together. He also says he thinks the Bengals have a good chance at winning the Super Bowl.😉
#WhoDey
That's a familiar face! 👀
@BenGelberNBC4
won't brag, so I'll do it for him. He's been a lecturer at OSU for several years, but he has officially landed on the staff page, as he tackles a more advanced class, synoptic meteorology. Pretty cool! We're lucky to have Ben!
Brutus was in need of some puppy love this morning. He doesn’t get any attention… 🤪😂
And I don’t need comments about how the floor is probably gross. When a puppy needs cuddles you give the puppy cuddles. 😂
I’m back! Spent the last week at my parents’ cabin outside Yellowstone & had a great time. Saw lots of wildlife & got to see family! It’s such a beautiful part of the country.
I’m back bright & early this morning though, tracking warm temps & a few pop-ups the rest of the week.
CREW FORECAST⚽️
@columbuscrew
game tomorrow will be cool at kickoff, in the lower 50s, but we'll be dry and mostly clear! You'll see a few showers Saturday morning, but those will be more than clear by the time the game starts.
#Crew96
Got a little help with the
@BlueJacketsNHL
forecast this morning for tomorrow's season opener!
@StingerCBJ
is a bug of few words... but we've got a good forecast as you head to/from the game Thursday!
And it's always jacket weather indoors 😉
This is the best work day of my life 🐶🥹
Our
@nbc4i
Puppy with a Purpose came to get introduced to everybody before his big on air debut this Friday. I can confirm he is already the goodest boy and I am highly obsessed with him. He’s going to make such a good service dog 🐶
Headed back to
#HockingHills
today! Winter is my favorite season to visit. The icicles are incredible, & the waterfalls are the prettiest shade of blue/green. Today we did 8 miles from Old Man’s Cave to Cedar Falls to Whispering Cave. The perfect way to get our outdoor time in!
CLINTONVILLE SHOWING OFF 😍🍂🤩
@AndySpessard
does it again, with these gorgeous photos of the fall foliage around
#Columbus
. Most of Ohio is now seeing peak foliage, so enjoy it while it lasts! It sure is putting on a stunning show 🙌

@nbc4i
Literally took ~4 minutes to get checked in and send my ballot in 🙌🏼
Don’t forget to make your voice heard in our special election, Ohio! Polls close @ 7:30.
If you have questions about your polling location, or about the ballot, here are your answers:
First time White Castle-r. By recommendation from our Craver Hall of Famer inductee
@NBCMonica
, I tried the sausage breakfast sandwich & cheeseburger slider. Both were 👌🏽. And I’m just really grateful there were pickles on the cheeseburger bc pickles will sell me on anything🙌🏼
I’M IN THE GIFT SHOP!!!
Remember the
@ohiodnr
photo contest Polly and I won 2nd place in?! That photo is hanging in the DNR gift shop at the Ohio State Fair!!!
This is way cooler than being on TV 😜🥹
I’m back! Took some time off last week & headed to California to spend some time with family at Disneyland. It was a great lil getaway!
I’m back dark & early this morning, however, timing out this off-and-on rain we’ve got going on the next few days! See y’all on NBC4 Today!
GUESS WHAT! Sunsets. After. 6. Starting today. Our sun will not set until 6pm or later thru Nov. 6! Daylight Saving Time begins March 13th, then the sun won't set until after 7:30! Brighter days are ahead, folks. And warmer, too. High temps are in the 40s today. Happy Wednesday!
Here’s the little science lesson I gave during one of my live hits this evening to explain why we’ve seen rain>freezing rain>sleet>snow—ALL OF IT across Columbus over the last 24 hours! I figured if Mother Nature was going to give me a blank sleet canvas, I may as well use it 😉
Polly got to hang out with some her besties at the dog beach today! Had to get back out there for another amazing weather day. 🐶💙
…next time I need to remember to reapply the sunscreen 😂
STUNNING SCIOTO MILE! 😍🍁🍂
Andy Spessard Photography shot these gorgeous photos yesterday (Tuesday) in Columbus. Looking at near-peak foliage in the cap city. SO beautiful!
#ohwx
Can’t wait to watch this good boy grow up and see all the good he’s able to accomplish! He’s got the puppy dog eyes down to a T. He even chimed in a few times with his little puppy bark during the show this morning… he has a lot to say. 😉
“Siri has people asking her, she’s gotta ask McKenna.” -
@NBCMonica
Siri started asking me forecast questions on-air this morning… girl was getting real out of hand and just looking for her 5-seconds of NBC4 fame. 🛑🙃😂
@AndreaNBC4
@Matt_NBC4
Things are starting to come back to life out at Walnut Woods Metro Park, and that makes our spring fever hearts so happy. 🤗😍
Also got to see our favorite
@CbusMetroParks
park ranger, Dave. He’s the best. 👏🏻👏🏻
Officially registered for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus 1/2 Marathon with my sister! No turning back now 😅
Training begins in June or so, so for now, I’m researching *how to train for a half marathon. Tips welcome. 😂🏃🏼♀️
CLIPPERS HOME OPENER ⚾
A perfect start to the season. Warm temps throughout the game, & just a few clouds out. It's also Dime-A-Dog night! Go
@CLBClippers

@nbc4i
I think I’m funny 😂
The Barbie Movie comes out this summer, so I figured I’d make movie posters for
#StormTeam4
as if we were members of the cast… you’re welcome

JOIN US FOR WAG! FEST! 🐶
I’m SO excited to share that
@nbc4i
is sponsoring 2023 WAG! Fest, & I get to emcee.
Join us Saturday, Aug. 26th, at Prairie Oaks Metro Park from 10-4.
Come meet Polly & I, all while supporting local rescues & shelter groups. Free to attend!
IT’S
@BenGelberNBC4
’s BIRTHDAY!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Doesn’t look a day over 33, but has the knowledge of someone who is like… 333. Ben. Knows. Everything. And he’s always happy to share his knowledge & help out. He’s pretty cool & I’m glad I get to work with him.
Happy birthday, Ben! 🎂
Polly took me paddleboarding on the Scioto River this afternoon. She did all the hard work paddling & everything.
Or at least you would think so with how tired she seems to be now that we’re home. 🤔🐶😍

💜
On this Pi Day (3.14159🤪), a lot of us female STEM professionals (& our supportive coworkers💜) are wearing purple as part of a movement to raise awareness about the need for more women in science, technology, engineering, and math careers like meteorology.
Got to speak at the Ohio University Chapter of the AMS symposium last weekend, giving students, & other members of the meteorology field insight into the broadcast realm.
A great conference, highlighting women in a field mainly dominated by men. Grateful to have been there!
I was walking the Bridgepark farmers market on Saturday when this darling girl tapped me and said “my name is McKenna too!”
It’s so fun to meet viewers when I’m out-and-about, and it was especially nice to meet little McKenna and her momma Holly! 😊
We've got our first success story from the 4Ever Home Forecast! 🥹
Marion Area Humane says Caesar was adopted yesterday, after spending 334 days in the shelter. His new family saw him on the forecast and fell in love. So happy for Caesar!
@nbc4i
Another successful Red, White & BOOM! in the books. Thank you to Central Ohio for welcoming the NBC4 team into your homes for this long-standing Columbus tradition. It takes a lot to pull this off, but the community makes it more than worth it in the end! Happy Independence Day!
AIR QUALITY | Columbus is up with some of the worst AQ in the world right now.
This is expected to persist all day. All people (and pets) should limit time outdoors, all day.
Flow shifts more ESE tmrw. That should HELP, although I do think we’ll still hang onto some haze.
“No more kisses!”😂
It’s our 2nd-to-last Friday with, Brutus. Words can’t describe how much I’ll miss him. I’ll get into it more next week, otherwise I’ll cry my makeup off before I finish work. Love you, Bruty. Can’t wait to hear about your progress in professional training.💕
Popped in my mems… 5 years ago today I was working the morning show at the NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City when we got to spend the morning with baby black bears from Yellowstone Bear World 🥹😍 SO CUTE
Polly & I kept ourselves very busy this weekend! These pics are from Indian Mound Reserve in Cedarville. The gorge trail back from the falls was so beautiful, and the leaves are starting to grow! Can’t wait to go back during peak-spring green! 🍃😍🐶
“No time for pictures mom, gotta look for rocks!” 🤦🏼♀️🐶😂
Can’t believe we live so close, but are just now making it to Quarry Trails Metro Park! Next time we’re bringing the paddleboard. 🏄🏼♀️
BRUTUS'S FURRCAST 🐶
The day has arrived. Brutus's final furrcast. Barely made it through this one!!! It's a bittersweet day here at
@nbc4i
as Brutus prepares to head off to his professional training. 💙
🧵HEY DID YA HEAR? 👀🧏🏼♀️
If not, look up over Columbus… for the 9th year in a row, WeatheRate has certified
#StormTeam4
as The Most Accurate weather team in all of Central Ohio!
We’re doing it! 🚲
Matthew is back for Pelotonia round 2, & he recruited me this year, so together we’re going to cycle to raise funds for cancer research.
It’s a 50-mile bike ride in August, but until then, we’re raising $1,500 each, all going to the fight against cancer.
First day at ABC Action News is in the books! Super happy to be here. 🌴 Also laughing that everyone here is wearing a coat when it’s 60° because I just left a foot of snow in Utah... 😉😂 Gimme a year and I’ll be following suit, I’m sure.
I was working on my story at the Ray J testing site, when local balloon artist Johanna Infante showed up with this. She spent 5 hrs making it, in hopes of putting a smile on the faces of healthcare workers & those people who come get tested for here. ♥️🎈

Hi everybody! Thank you for the kind messages over the last few days making sure I was still around… I am! I took some time off & spent the last week in Kauai, Hawaii. It was an amazing getaway. Pictures don’t do it justice, but I’ll post a few here to try:
Taking a look at the radar/velocity scans from last night as severe storms rolled through the Indian Lake area and eventually into Delaware County.
Some pretty clear rotation.
