Kirklees was given £2million from this government for energy efficient home retrofitting under the Local Authority delivery scheme. Good of Sir Keir to help me demonstrate what a Conservative government is actually delivering.
Residents I met in Kirklees live in retrofitted, energy efficient homes, which cuts their energy bills by £350 a year.
The right energy strategy - focusing on renewables - creates a real difference to people’s lives.

This is nonsense. In fact, SM’s put consumers in control of their usage and suppliers to offer a range of tariffs, including cheap rates at night to enable, for example, EV charging.
I’ve said for years one purpose of smart meters is to charge more for electricity at peak times which will mean low income families won’t be able to afford breakfast before work or dinner at dinner time SMs don’t just measure our energy use they control it

We will implement the FHS in 2025, ensuring new homes are ready for Net Zero.
