@Grummz
They should reduce his role because it isn't consistent with the brand
Assassin's Creed was always about being a Forrest Gump murder hobo fist bumping with historical figures. You weren't supposed to be the historical figure.
@osgamer74
Awful game design
The purpose of weaknesses is to have the team or player figure out solutions to get around those issues. A huge advantage of RPGs over board games is you literally can do almost anything within the game system
Limitation breeds creativity.
@Grummz
The comparisons are ridiculous when you see people were cancelled for most tiny things like the Covington kid literally standing there not saying anything
Meanwhile they expect us to be "empathic" to those who cheer on a political assassination
@Grummz
@Forbes
@verge
>Game has unappealing character design
>The dev team has a PR issue with numerous internal problems
>Paying a premium price while the competition the price of free
>Nothing original about the game
>Balance seems out of whack according to play testers
What a mystery...
@Manga_Kamen
This one because it barely understands what world building is and argues that everything should be humanized, even in areas where it doesn't make sense (e.g. demons)
@BatfleckMovie
I absolutely despise this trend that someone disliking a media isn't because it's bad, it's because "they don't understand it"
You and the director aren't that clever buddy
@Grummz
That guy has a history. Years ago he tried to silence his critics and it was discovered that his family is worth millions.
He doesn't believe free speech is dangerous. He only wants to remove it because it absolves him from any form of accountability
@KirscheVerstahl
Blazing Saddles was making fun of corrupt politicians and pointless bureaucratic bloat. I don't understand how anyone can miss the point that hard.
@Grummz
It does go a bit deeper.
Lots of people who preached about inclusive and safety in tabletop have constantly defended him for years. He was only called out when it was "safe" to do so.
@Trey_2715
The Last Jedi wasn't hard to understand.
If anything, it's easy to understand yet hamfisted message is one of the many problems with the film
@Grummz
If you tell your audience that your character designs is a "smoke show", they aren't.
I never seen any company confident in their art direction or character design say anything like this.
@MadamSavvy
This entire post distills the insanity of Dustborn's story
Also she isn't making it up. I have watched her stream a few times out of morbid curiosity. The story of Dustborn is absolute insanity and anyone siding with the main character has issues they refuse to acknowledge
@Grummz
@SoulashGame
@ArturSmiarowski
"Games are art"
You can't say games are creative outlets yet also demand the artist cater to your specific needs
Also I thought review bombing was bad...
@DaddyWarpig
While they are still backers and financial support, they missed an opportunity of a lifetime.
Fortunately, if I release my game, I won't make the same mistakes
@Grummz
Community managers sadly have little training/education in customer service or actual community management.
This pattern throughout several games is proof of this
@Grummz
Gotta love American journalists. They think anything is happening due to Americans
It's not like the game was blasted by Japanese media, influencers, and historians
Nah it's just a bunch of people on twitter. That's all.
@6ixbuzztv
Is this guy really from Toronto? Because "cultural appropriation" in restaurants is everywhere in that city.
I was at Toronto yesterday and my dinner was a Sushi Burrito in a Korean restaurant.
@Grummz
The labels are losing impact even on new ones because anything they throw they can easily apply themselves
Their entire movement is gifting and rage baiting
These labels are simple projections
@Grummz
It wouldn't surprise if this push was due to Asian culture being a threat to the California types. We have all witnessed these game bloggers constantly mocking Japan with their "weird sexy games" before even in early 2000s
@Grummz
I have yet to see these "refugees" that go to alternative social media that didn't have a messed up past.
For example, a lot of tabletop left for Blue Sky because the harassment rules in that place barely exist and they kept getting suspended on Twitter.
@Grummz
I've been following this guy for a bit and he knows his game design stuff. His breakdown of Concord was excellent and currently using some of that knowledge for my game
@KraftyMattKraft
This is the satanic panic wearing different colored clothes
Also, it's pretty much a boldfaced lie for anyone who actually played DnD.
@Grummz
@BandaiNamcoUS
If your protag can be summed in a few words, it's a boring one.
Even NES games had a more interesting backstory for their characters. Link, Samus, and Simon Belmont just to name a few
@StutteringCraig
Dude they are literally a tiny studio that was propped up by squaresoft as part of an initiative and for an ultra niche genre
Plus the game was released a while ago. I've played and it's good at what it's trying to do
@Grummz
For sure. I've seen so many claims that there isn't a cancel culture yet here is a game that outright admits its a tactic
And this character is supposed to be the hero btw
@Grummz
Pretty frustrating because Little Goody Two Shoes is quite good if you're into those "RPG Maker" style horror games. It is a far, far, far cry from the Dustborn mess
