I'm blessed to say that I congratulated 6 persons in the previous week on landing their new jobs. 5 of them were my students. 3 short term internship roles, 1 full-time internship role(on my recommendation) and 2 full-time job roles. All data analyst roles 😊

Whoever sees this tweet will at first instance think the applicants are incompetent or don't know what they're doing. There's a big problem with the hiring process that needs to be addressed. 1 hour to complete DAP. Haba. Data analysts are not animals. They should be respected.
51 applications...dropped to 22 after 1st round of online evaluation. All 22 invited and given raw data to clean, model and visualise using PowerBI...guess how many crossed the 70% cut off?

Technical assessments of sort should be take home assessment with atleast 3 days to turn in(still low tho). It's a technical assessment not CCAT. Recruiters will write python & SQL on their JD, make recruitment process tough and when they hire one, they end up using Excel only.

4. In anything you do with data, please know SQL. You do not need to know it all. For a fresher role, have basic knowledge and know it well.
5. For DBA people, my manager says you can't be interviewing for a DB role if you don't understand SQL terms like ACID.

For security, you can create an audit log table to keep track of activities and data changes. You can read about disaster recovery. They're complex but will help when implemented.
