Python is the language. Data Engineering is the calling. Learn it with dedication. If you're starting look for these guys Corey Schafer or Mosh on YouTube. You may do the Mosh free YouTube first before heading to Schafer. Don't thank me later. Just learn.😊
If you want to learn SQL without doubt. Check this guy out... "Kudvenkat beginners SQL on YouTube". It has about 150 videos.
He has arranged the Playlist in such a way that if you're judicious with your learning,
#SQL
will no longer be a threat to you. Don't thank me later 😊.
He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot carry out their plans against Sanwoolu. Thank you Lord for the imminent victory

Aspiring Data Analyst, don't be tempted to jump to R or Python or fancy things as a beginner. only few companies rely on Python or R for their daily business operations reporting. They will be using either Power BI, Excel, Tableau, or even Looker, SQL. Don't waste your effort now
Excel - 2 to 3 weeks
SQL - 2 to 3 weeks
Power BI - 2 to 3 weeks.
The above lifts you off the ground only. Learning is a lifelong thing in this journey. My message is to newbies and those aspiring.
Data Analyst share your portfolio or screenshot of visualization you developed.
I want to see something. Don’t be shy. Share your work. The globe is watching.
Data engineers are scarce. Data Analyst who love connecting things. Take charge.
You can start with learning simple tools like SSIS, Focusing more hours on python and narrow into Pandas, Spark... Just to familiarize yourself with the concept of Data Pipeline.
If you're starting out as a data analyst, start with Excel. If you already know excel basics go straight to learning and working with PIVOT TABLE, Chart building, and dashboarding in Excel. Start this week. Start!!!
There was a time when I was on fire sha...
Badges and Certifications are everywhere. 😉
Where I have reached is through sweat and blood, plus the Grace of God.
When I started gaining confidence in my Data Analytics journey, I used
@Upwork
to get gigs that trained me well enough to face real job. Use gigs to build profile. Take internship seriously.
Last year, I mentored some to get certified, trained many to learn Power BI and SQL in a bid to kick start their Data Analyst career path or Data Engineering. Advice many on where to start the journey. I will do more this Year God willing.
To learn SQL easily, I find MS SQL SERVER, a simple way to get started. Why?
All you need to start is:
1. Install the DB engine( Developer version) it is free for life...😊
2. Install SSMS
3. Download and restore a complete dummy adventureworks bak file that simulates a company
2023... I will push as many as will be willing to switch their career to Data Analytics and Data Engineering So help me God.
@biwatechnology
will be the handle to drive this course with my full support. The race for 2023 begins now!!!
That is my next level.
To get going is easy:

What should I do as a total beginner pursuing Data Analytics?
1. Know it isn't a quick money scheme.
2. You must be resilient.
3. Technologies to focus on are:
a. Excel, b. SQL, c. Power BI/Tableau.
4. Don't run from pillar to post joining all lessons. Focus on 1 at a time.
@fatiabubakarr
There is an easy solution for that though. Just return home. The other reasons why people japa are not improving or getting better by the day. Feeling lonely/bored abroad, no need to complain. Just "UnJapa".
You think SQL is difficult to learn because you're in a hurry to finish the videos, so you can post the certificate. It doesn't work that way. If it's not clear enough, go for the 2nd or 3rd rounds of watching. Learn with purpose, not for certificate of completion.
Aspiring Data Engineers, familiarize yourself with the following concepts/ technologies:
1. Basics of Excel.
2. GRIND SQL to intermediate level
3. Data Modeling, Data Warehouse/Data Lake.
4. Python Basics
5. Python Pandas/pyspark
6. Extract Transform Load
6. AWS or Azure Cloud
Set the tone straight for 2023.
Here are the targets for this year if you're starting off as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer.
• SQL
• Power BI/Tableau
• Excel
• Python**
Put your pledge and stand by it. Good luck.
@MigunaMiguna
you are the best of them all. When I say all I mean all. Kudos Africa is watching...we need more of your type. Courageous and no sugar coating.
If your goal is to become a data engineer. Don't waste time doing
#PowerBI
. Rather, focus on SQL, Python, cloud computing (Azure, AWS, GCP), and data modeling.
In python don't have the mindset of conquering python. Learn the basic programming rules and move to key libs for DE.
@ahmednasirlaw
This is not Putin remember the sayings of our ancestors:
That says
“who the Gods want to kill, they first make him mad”
it more that than an external force.
When I switched my career to the data field, I was about 33 years. It was puzzling to make this decision, confusing to even know where it will lead me to, but I decided because I was convinced it’s my only way out my then situation. Thank God I decided.
After delving into it,
@OgbeniDipo
Legit. Start with Excel or Power BI follow it with SQL. I suggest Python over R. Do certifications DA100 for Data Analyst and DP900 Azure Data fundamentals for SQL.

Unregulated scrap metal market is creating infrastructure sabotage. Create a state policy to ban sales of scrape metal the way we have it now.
We need sanity we must have sanity.

When fully in operation, from your sim card you can send money to others sim card. Not like an APP from banks. We use it in Kenya they call it Mpesa. Meaning you carry money on your phone number. I hope I have tried.
Hope because I was quiet for a day or 2 you aspiring Data Analyst and Data Engineers haven't lost your morales. It's still early. How is 7am quick touch base on Saturday on SQL for absolute beginners? Group will be very small just 20 people per batch. To fast track your learning.
Learning SQL does not really require stress of which DB did you learn with. Just learn SQL. But I personally recommend SQL SERVER DB. Check my pin tweet.
When I felt like I have the confidence to complete a data Visualization in Power BI, SQL, I took to LinkedIn I was writing about the project I gave myself and competed. Some of my connections reached out to give me gigs. Don't keep your work, no one will know you.
When I started off my career in the data space about 7 years ago, it was not so clear to me what I was doing, ai just kept grinding.
Today, by God’s grace, when we talk about data, I’ve worked in different regions of the world. Advised top management using data and got results
If you're a new learner in any of these tools: Excel, Power BI, SQL, Quicksight, Tableau and you are facing challenges understanding certain concepts, please put the concepts below this tweet. Let break the concepts down. I am trying to see how we can co-learn.
Data engineers are needed everyday. Many run away from this JD because it requires a lot to hone the skills. However, it is not impossible to start from knowing nothing to becoming a pro.
Start by knowing:
- Python
- Data Modeling
- Data lake/warehouse
- ETL/ELT
- SQL

That airport is crazy. Not just Nigerians alone. The officials are corrupt but want to act like they are working. Very silly officials. Sorry for that experience man.
This is still true for most people. But don’t budge.

Educate yourself. Many times many Muslims have claimed that "Jesus is not Lord" and this is core to the Christian faith, we don't hear them stoned or Christian saying that is blasphemous. But turn the claims, blood will flow. Know that no one has the monopoly of violence.
Tech is still changing lives. Data Analytics or Data Engineering is not as difficult as you think. All it requires is endurance, and persistence. You must define a way to grow a tough skin that if I don't stop, I will win. That's all you need as you grind the data skills.

of the most coordinated protest in Nigeria’s history. When the heat and time is ripe again, they will come out in numbers. Let government keep building the pain. Protest usually is about a breaking point. When it reaches , it will be organic.
@OpeBee
Moving 200+ humans around to me looks like the hierarchy of the community and our security architecture in that region need to answer serious questions. We need to be serious for once. This is repeating because no one paid for the Laxity of Chibok girls. Too annoying!!!
No one can ever claim to know all the concepts in Data Analytics before getting their first job. I said it No one.
Hire them like that. They will grow. Just measure grit and hire.
Do you want to pursue a career? Go online and search for the requirements for jobs in that career. Write down the skills needed. Check the skills you already have map out those you want to learn. Work on it over time and build your confidence in it. Attain and occupy the role.
It is never too late to start all over again. I started at the age that is 30+... now I am extremely happy I switched.
Just start. This is a new week, draw out the plan. No matter what, let the journey start. It's not necessarily rossy but be determined.
Displaying your SQL skills might be tricky. However, here is how you may show your prowess in using the too:
1. Develop business use cases.
2. Write SQL query to answer the business questions/uses cases.
3. Create database objects like views, stored procedures for 2 above.
4.

After I settled in Tech properly, I established myself with a Masters degree in computing and Information systems.
I was not joking that I wanted to switch path. I meant it and wanted to be known for it. Go all out. No jokes. The main point is that get your goals right.
You need SQL as a Beginner Data Analyst than you need Python. Don't be deceived or waste too much time on skills you need as a senior/intermediate. Start your career path stress free.
You are expecting to be good with
#SQL
, but you're watching training tutorials while sleeping on the bed... are you normal? Sit upright and Practice what's been taught.
@bwireluther
@LarryMadowo
Because the "Masters" made it look like so. If Europeans are moving freely, Americans moving freely. Why Africa? Share information across the continent. Give Africans more opportunities. If Nairobi is not working move to Accra or Yaounde or Lagos. Be spoilt with choices.
Except you're doing some scientific analysis, these charts/visuals are your best bet:
1. Pie
2. Line
3. Donut
4. Bar
5. Treemap
6. Fill map
6. Stacked Bar
7. Table
Business users are mostly comfortable with them.
IMO, if you give a biz-user Boxplot, they'll think you are mad.
So, you started the Data Analytics journey, and you're totally confused and frustrated if you will ever master the trade? Let me tell you something. Yes, you will master it. The key is repetition. Keep repeating it. It will be clear soon. Do not stop.
