I am the Rector of Somali National University. I hereby assure the Somali people, who own and fund SNU, that I have never heard of any threat to our female students in our Galmudug Campus in “Caabud Waaq.” IOM has to either retract its statement or show a proof of such incident.

Yesterday, about 4000 students took entrance exam at SNU. We can seat 75% of them, if they pass the exam. This is 22% average yearly increase since the University was reopened in 2014. Students will get their first choice of college based on their scores. Good luck to everyone!

Making hay out of nothing? These weapons can never be a cause for the reimposition of UN arms embargo. Quantitatively or qualitatively, they do not meet the threshold. They are merely two truck loads and not military grade weapons. Let us dial down the shrill!
The UN has to admit that it was a mistake to lift the Arm Embargo on Somalia and should re- instate the arms ban before Somalia’s illegal arms set the whole region ablaze.

I don’t know about Hawo more than the average Somali. But I can say (with documentation) that the Sayyid is one of the greatest anti-colonial resistance leaders in Africa & Asia. The British called him “Mad Mullah,” and I don’t think it is wise for any of us to call him that.
