The problem with her argument is that it is very British. The EU has moved on, and public opinion within EU countries was only (if at all) shortly interested in Brexit. Talking to the public opinion in Britain about the need for the EU to be flexible won't achieve anything.

This is not about Britain. France has many territories in the Indo-Pacific area contrary to the UK. It is about the security of French citizens in the region. A more Gaullist attitude will be the outcome. No candidate in the presidential election will avoid making this point.

Have you ever heard of the difference between blasphemy and defamation/insult? Blasphemy was abolished in 1791 in France. The 1881 law on the freedom of the press prohibits defamation/insults, but explicitly excludes outrage to divinities and doctrines. Too subtle?
